Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee pharmaceutical translation and localization projects. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of project execution, from planning to delivery, while managing stakeholder expectations and leading a team of project managers and coordinators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Project Management: Lead, plan, and execute high-profile pharmaceutical translation and localization projects. Develop and refine project strategies, manage complex timelines, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure all deliverables meet the highest quality standards and are on time and within budget. Oversee quoting processes, including both quote preparation and follow-ups with stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders as applicable, addressing their strategic needs and providing regular updates throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, translating their requirements into actionable project plans.
  • Quality Assurance Leadership: Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that all translated materials meet industry-specific terminology, regulatory requirements, and stringent quality standards. Implement and enhance quality control measures and review translated content for accuracy and consistency.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project managers, in-house linguists, external translators, and localization specialists. Foster a collaborative environment, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in project execution and team performance.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Ensure adherence to relevant pharmaceutical regulations and standards, including FDA, EMA, and ICH guidelines. Stay informed on industry developments and integrate changes into project management practices to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Risk Management and Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and address potential project risks. Develop and implement mitigation strategies, resolve complex issues, and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Strategic Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present detailed project reports, including strategic status updates, budget tracking, and performance metrics. Maintain comprehensive project documentation to ensure transparency and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Languages, or a related field. An advanced degree or certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of project management experience in the pharmaceutical translation and localization industry, with a proven track record of managing high-profile projects and working with Pharma/Life Science clients. Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Skills: Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and regulatory requirements. Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in translation management software and project management tools. Experience with CAT tools such as Wordbee and/or Studio is advantageous (though can be taught). Familiarity with Jira is a bonus, but can also be taught.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
