Publicis Media Technology and Innovation is a centralized global practice within Publicis Media, the media-centric solutions hub of Publicis Groupe [Euronext Paris FR0000130577, CAC 40]. We drive transformation across Publicis Media’s global agency brands via the provision of a scalable and consistent approach to data and technology. We define and deliver a global data/tech platform; best-in-class data management and analytics applications serving the media planning lifecycle.

Our growing Product Design team is seeking a full-time Director, User Research with a passion and hands on ability to turn complex industry challenges into useful, desirable, and user-centered Advertising Technology experiences on a global scale.

You will report to Senior Vice President, Product Design Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and lead generative and evaluative research studies from start to finish: identify the appropriate research questions, define the participants, select the optimal methodology, design the study, and execute with a high level of rigor.
  • Partner with cross-functional product teams, identifying research opportunities, defining requirements, informing the product roadmap, guiding design evolution, while continually representing the voice of the customer.
  • Develop and implement user-centered research tactics throughout the design and development cycle using the best research methods based on goals, timeline, and resources.
  • Perform quick data analysis in order to create actionable findings.
  • Maintain a repository of insights to guide quarterly planning and prioritization in product development.
  • Be a strong and vocal user advocate by evangelizing User Experience best practices, strategies, techniques, and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Masters, Bachelors, or Professional degree backed by 6+ years of experience in design, research, or related fields, demonstrating creativity, leadership, and significant impact within each previous role.
  • Experience in media planning, ad tech space, or within a consumer tech or enterprise software company where multiple users and systems transact.
  • Proficient applying qualitative methods: in-depth interviews, contextual inquiry, participatory research, and observational research.
  • Proficient with some quantitative methods: survey design and analysis, statistical analysis, and concept testing.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration experience to facilitate constructive debate, align product and design strategies, and deliver insights in a compelling narrative that drives change.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables including study plans, usability study reports, and user research presentations.
  • Experience with modern research tools such as Usertesting.com, Lookback, Dovetail, Maze, and surveying tools.

Compensation Range:  $130,000 - $204,500 annually.  This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
