Publicis Imagine is a custom-built team for Disney created with one purpose in mind – to be Disney’s most valuable partner in creating the next era of entertainment. The team falls under the umbrella of Publicis Media and is dedicated to Disney’s lines of business:

  • Disney Entertainment (Disney+, Studios, Media Networks), Disney Experiences (Parks and Cruises, Consumer Products)

The Publicis Imagine team has been designed to be simple, agile and connected, with access to the latest innovations in media to accelerate Disney’s growth around the world, Data is at the core of Publicis Imagine’s offering. We enable this by uncovering data-driven insights that inform marketing, creative messaging and media decisions.

Our Disney Entertainment team oversee and plan campaigns for some of the biggest entertainment releases each and every year. From ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ to ‘Alien: Romulus’, we work closely with the studios to develop and deliver unique and memorable campaigns for each title.

Our Disney Consumer Products team work on campaigns for Disney with key partners, such as LEGO, Hasbro and Funko Pop. Also with their main retail partners such as Amazon, Primark, H&M and Smyths.

Zynga Gaming is a new client and addition to Publicis. Part of Take Two Interactive, they are one of the largest gaming publishers in the world, responsible for franchises such as CSR Racing and Farmville. With a host of new game launches planned, such as Star Wars and Game of Thrones mobile games, they are on an exciting trajectory of growth and expansion across gaming categories.

Job Description

Publicis Imagine is now looking for a new Planning Associate Director to work on two of our latest and most exciting clients, Disney and Zynga gaming. This is an opportunity to work on two global disruptor brands, businesses that believe in the power of people to make a difference, and be part of a team leading the change and driving our clients into the future.

  • Be the main strategic point of contact for the client, providing informed, insightful and authoritative consultancy
  • Developing and deploying media guidelines for EMEA markets, demonstrating data led thinking, and considering Paid Owned and Earned touchpoints
  • Collaborate closely with Investment, Audience & Insights, Offline and Digital teams in the UK and across EMEA
  • Review and provide feedback on competitive analysis and reporting documents, using data to fuel insights and recommendations for the client
  • Manage the team in using research tools to help support in strategic campaign responses across EMEA
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of client business from current and historical perspectives
  • Ensure that all projects and deliverables and met on time and to the highest standard
  • Be an active participant in helping build the Publicis Imagine team and culture, working across different LOB briefs, brainstorms and plenty of chances to collaborate across the Disney account and on future Zynga gaming projects
  • Be a point of connection with the wider Publicis Imagine strategy team, sharing information, insights, and being a source of collaboration.
  • Help collating post campaign analyses and integrating learnings into future campaign planning
  • Maintaining media playbooks and planning bibles, ensuring they reflect the current approach and strategic direction of the client, as well as onboarding local markets to the latest iteration
  • Working across Disney’s theatrical portfolio to develop media strategy and tactics to launch UK film releases – across a variety of studios, including: Disney Animation, 20th Century, Marvel Studios, Searchlight Strategy, and also Disney+ theatrical series releases, such as The Acolyte
  • Creation and management of research & insight pieces, such as audience playbooks and Marvel fans
  • Creation of budget scenarios for campaign across global markets, key markets have been US, UK, Germany & France, Japan, Brazil, Canada & Mexico
  • Liaising with local teams and investment teams for scenario planning at different budget tiers

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a media agency, either in a local market planning role or regional / EMEA roles
  • Collaborative mindset and approach
  • Inquisitive, with a desire to question, learn, and pick up new skills
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, able to work in a fast paced environment and juggle multiple projects and tasks at once
  • Confident presenting to both internal staff & clients
  • Useful but not critical: Knowledgeable about The Walt Disney Company and mobile or video games

CRITICAL SKILLS

  • Exceptional strategic skills, and ability to form clear narratives with data
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be dealing with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to think critically and challenge / question assumptions to ensure the best possible delivery for your client
  • Analytical abilities, use a broad range of analytical approaches and techniques, being able to translate data into useful learnings and clear actions
  • Good knowledge of digital and other media
  • Excel and PPT experience mandatory
