Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Online Editor to join our team and contribute to our continued growth and success. The ideal candidate will have a proven credit list and client base in online editing for episodic, feature, and natural history workflows. Significant experience with software platforms such as Flame, Baselight, and Nuke is essential. A strong understanding of motion picture camera formats, resolutions, frame rates, and codecs is also required. This role involves supporting the Picture Department with fine detail conforming and finishing of feature, episodic, and documentary projects, working with original camera footage, VFX, and graphic elements based on client-supplied turnover materials. Exceptional attention to detail, a thorough understanding of the post-production process, and effective communication skills are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conform feature, episodic, and natural history documentary projects from camera original files, VFX, and graphic elements.
  • Bid, track, and execute basic VFX and compositing work.
  • Bid, track, and manage the presentation of outsourced complex VFX and compositing work.
  • Perform optical, re-speed, and clean-up work.
  • Composite titles.
  • Conduct client sessions both on-site and remotely.
  • Ensure the technical accuracy of all work, including outsourced tasks.
  • Collaborate with Color Assists, Producers, and Engineers to ensure smooth client sessions.
  • Communicate project developments, issues, and timelines with the project manager.
  • Collaborate with colleagues at all Harbor locations to share workload and expertise.
  • Perform other duties within the department as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive recent experience in a post-production environment.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Flame, Baselight, and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Familiarity with Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, and other NLE software.
  • Experience with feature film and episodic workflows.
  • Understanding of professional audio/video standards.
  • Proficiency in Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to interact with clients and perform quality work under deadline pressure.
