Job Description
We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join our dynamic growing team.
The Solutions Architects a multi-faceted role working to define business requirements and using data, applications, and infrastructure to design, build, and implement solutions within the agreed timescales and budgets. As such, you must be experienced in gathering and documenting requirements from users. You must also be able to work with developers, testers, UX developers, and project managers to realise solutions in line with requirements.
As the connection between the business and the technical teams, you will understand business challenges, have technical knowledge of the software development life cycle, and be able to translate business language into technical language.
This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to carry out requirements workshops, collaborate with users, document technical requirements, review test scripts, assist with functional and user acceptance testing, and train users. You must be able to manage users at all levels, ensure expectations are realistic and help to identify, understand, and implement steps to mitigate risks to projects and find the right balance between the ideal world and the real business needs. You must be able to challenge demands through detailed analysis, questioning, and deep dives to ensure thorough understanding of problems and to produce adequate solutions.
Qualifications
The following requirements are essential for this role:
- Articulate, strong, confident communication
- Ability to work under pressure, juggle multiple projects, and manage challenges
- Experience in analyst developer role with a focus on web based, data driven and/or BI applications
- Ability to accurately capture requirements from users and manage their expectations
- Good experience in developing complex solutions from inception to delivery
- Ability to draw up costs and timeline proposals for solutions
- Good understanding of SQL databases, design and ability to write SQL queries
- Good understanding of web application development
Highly desirable, but not essential skills are:
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including daily scrums, sprint planning and release control
- Evaluation of third-party solutions and supplier proposals
- Experience of analysing business processes and re-engineering to introduce efficiencies
- Good understanding of BI tools, such as Tableau, Birst, Datorama
- Understanding of good UI/user experience principles
- Knowledge of media buying systems, competitive data providers, ad-servers, DSPs, web analytics tools, content verification tools etc.
- Any experience of working in the media industry
