Job Description

Key responsibilities will include:

 

Responsible for assisting Producers across the planning and delivery of projects across multiple clients, working with multiple production partners.

Assisting your Producer with budget breakdowns, timing plans, resource schedule, industry contracts, Business Affairs admin and financial admin.

Producing radio commercials, mood films, adaptations, small scale productions and award case studies.


 

Purpose:

The role of the Assistant Producer is to support the Producers in the department to help the generation, crafting and production of great ideas into film. 

 

Areas of accountability:

 

  • Always represent the Agency in a professional manner. 

  • Practise front-foot Producer support, planning ahead, knowing your timings inside out, knowing the team’s movements and planning around these commitments.

  • Develop strong relationships with your Producer, your team and your production partners.

  • Support your Producer to maintain project timing and learning to look ahead and anticipate challenges throughout the project. In addition, manage timings on your own projects.

  • To ensure the best quality of output on what we deliver for our clients.

  • Management and accountability for budget spends.

  • Creating the right conditions and morale for teamwork.

  • Can manage your workload effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

The core responsibilities of the Assistant Producer role can be broadly broken down into the following areas:

 

Financial skills

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Understand the production budget and all expenditure on the project you are assisting on.

  • On your own projects, be able to manage costs, deliver against a budget and be accountable for all production cost management (billing, reconciliation etc..).

  • Proactively work to control and reduce costs where possible.

  • Learn to treat the client and agency money as if it is your own.

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of commercial responsibility - understanding the importance of POs, billing and reconciliations.

 

People skills

  • Curious and constantly seeking to learn.

  • To be considered friendly and approachable, a go to person.

  • Grow professional, practical and successful working relationships with internal and external clients:  Account management, Creative dept, Project management,  Design, Mission Possible, Finance, Media companies, Clients, Production Companies, Edit houses, Sound Studios, Post houses, Music Sync companies, Talent engagement companies and IP Licensing companies

  • Demonstrate clear, concise and action oriented communication and listening skills. 

 

Management Skills

  • Deliver all tasks to deadline OR flag where this is not possible to your Producer in advance.

  • On your own projects, develop and execute a plan of action including detailed timings to manage all internal and external stakeholders.

  • Outstanding organisational skills, means you are always on the front foot with key information to hand.

  • Beginning to demonstrate an understanding of your production partner’s needs, and the client and BBH’s commercial landscape.
