  • Full-time

Company Description

Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) is one of the world’s most famous creative agencies. Founded in London in 1982, we now also have offices in Dublin, New York, Mumbai, Singapore and Shanghai.

Based in the heart of Soho, BBH London is a vibrant hub of creativity, where the Black Sheep was first born.

Today we are home to just under 400 BBHers across different specialisms, all connected by one culture. There is no "one size fits all" at BBH. We believe in the power of difference to make a difference. If you surprise people, then they’ll sit up. If you speak a different language to everyone else, then they’ll listen. If you craft your message with love and originality, then that message will land harder. If you give people something useful that makes their lives a little bit better, then they’ll thank you. Everything we do is born out of the pursuit of difference. We fill our building with people who are different. We like to work with people who are different.

Our enduring commitment to difference is best embodied by The Black Sheep. It represents our businesses, our culture, and the people who work here.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join the BBH insight and effectiveness team.

The performance and insight analyst will focus on performance reporting through social data/analytics. They will be responsible for using a range of platforms such as Netbase, and Sprout including native platforms to measure, track and benchmark communication performance – primarily organic social but extending to paid too.

Outputs will be delivered both internally (BBH strategy/social teams) and externally. This is a client-facing role, with regular/ad-hoc engagements with client stakeholders. Key clients for the regular reporting requirements are Tesco and Audi. The remit also extends to PCA reporting across integrated campaigns when required.

Beyond the adequate and diligent provision of reporting the performance and insight analyst should also be able to make strategic and creative-led recommendations based specifically on measurement learnings – working in partnership with internal strategy teams.

They will also work on a number of social insight briefs, designed to inform and inspire strategic and creative development across the BBH client portfolio.

The core aspect of this role involves managing social media reporting workstreams for Tesco and Audi - these are expected to represent circa 50-75% of the workload.

  • For Tesco, this includes two weekly reports: one is an excel-spreadsheet detailing the performance of its owned social content on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok (focusing on metrics like impressions, engagement, engagement rate). The other is a powerpoint report on the social conversation about Tesco and its competitors which is discussed with the client on a weekly call.

  • For Audi, we provide a monthly analysis of Audi content (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) using native analytics platforms and we recommend content strategy, providing inspiration from other brands in the luxury category.

Both workstreams involve regular client contact and additional ad hoc requests for wider social listening or post campaign analysis.

We are therefore looking for an individual with relevant experience in social data reporting (ideally 2 years+), with the ability to structure and synthesise reporting data for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and who is brave enough in their conviction to make recommendations that will make a genuine difference to strategic and creative development.

Previous experience in social media reporting (performance) is essential along with the:

• Client-facing experience

• Platform expertise: i.e. brandwatch, Netbase, sprout, etc

• A passion for social (alongside communications in general)

• A strong interest in culture (popular culture, cultural insight, etc)

• Very strong attention to detail and excellent project management skills

Growth areas

In addition to the core requirement, we would like to highlight a number of growth areas for the right candidate, grouped here by ‘area’:

  • Competency/experience/interest in advanced analytics would be desirable: Google Analytics, google adwords, SPSS, PowerBI, SQL etc.

  • Any experience with coding and using  AI in the context of analytics

  • Expertise in data visualization and a passion for how best to present data visually

  • Effectiveness is also a very strong focus at BBH - being able to prove, and understand, what makes the work work. The performance and insight analyst must therefore be able to help prove the difference the work is making and there is also an opportunity to learn about communication effectiveness more broadly (beyond social measurement).

  • Strategic insight: there will be opportunities for the right candidate to get involved in broader insight projects (beyond social data). They will also be provided with the opportunity to upskill/get involved in adjacent insight skill sets if they wish to develop.

We would welcome a candidate with relevant experience across the above and who wants to champion or lean into these areas for their development.

At BBH we deploy insight as a resource to help develop strategy and creativity.

From the perspective of the insight team, the day-to-day job involves bringing wisdom to the numbers and presenting complex data with flair, to help inspire and evidence creativity.  Understanding data is just one half of the job, storytelling & creating powerful strategic insights are equally as important.  We use different types of data for this aim and are to a degree data agnostic. Ultimately, all team members aspire to be proficient at using different types of data to deeply understand businesses, brands, people, and culture.
