Job Description

Harbor is seeking an experienced and highly motivated CG Lead, to join our creative Advertising team and support our continued growth. The CG Lead will oversee a team of CG artists, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality visual effects for a variety of projects. The CG Lead will work closely with VFX Supervisors, Creative Directors, Production, Clients, and other departments to ensure clear communication and seamless project execution. Responsibilities include bidding on projects, managing workflows, providing mentorship and technical guidance to the team, managing pipeline assets, and engaging in practical CG tasks. This role demands a blend of artistic and technical expertise to meet creative objectives within set deadlines and budget.

  • Lead and mentor a team of CG artists, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Develop and implement efficient 3D workflows to meet project requirements.
  • Oversee the look development of key shots and sequences.
  • Ensure clear communication between all stakeholders.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Bid on CG projects and manage client expectations.
  • Execute work as an artist when necessary.
  • Maintain high technical and artistic standards.
  • Provide technical and creative solutions.
  • Attend dailies, reviews, and client meetings.
  • Manage the pipeline and workflow for 3D disciplines.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience leading teams and working with production, creative directors, clients, and other departments.
  • Proficiency in modeling, texturing, look development, rigging, animation, FX, and/or rendering.
  • Expert knowledge of Maya; Houdini skills are a plus.
  • Experience working with ZBrush, Adobe Suite, Substance Painter, Mari, Nuke, and other industry-standard software.
  • Experience with VFX shoot supervision and live-action VFX workflows.
  • Proactive in learning proprietary tools and new techniques.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Team player with a great attitude; dependable and flexible.
  • Takes direction well and exercises close attention to detail.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment and work under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
