Job Description

We’re looking for a FTC Communications Director to sit within the Publicis Groupe UK Comms team, primarily leading on Saatchi & Saatchi but also supporting Turner Duckworth and on additional agencies and projects as required.

Saatchi & Saatchi is one of the most famous agencies in the world and you will play a critical role in helping to facilitate and deliver fame both within the industry and in the wider world. You’ll be responsible for Saatchi & Saatchi’s reputation in the market - demonstrating how we’re making industry-defining creative work and setting the bar for modern business.

It’ll be crucial that you can build strong relationships of trust with the agency leaders and senior stakeholders within the agencies, and work with them to build reputation among the right audiences, to attract the right clients and talent.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be a comms professional with lots of energy and ideas, natural gravitas and a track record of developing and delivering communications strategies to achieve impactful results. You’ll be used to working with senior clients/stakeholders and have earned your stripes as a trusted adviser across corporate and consumer briefs and clients.

You’re a thinker and a doer, a strong writer, highly organised with experience of working in-house in complex organisations, or working in an agency environment, managing several clients. You’ll have a good news instinct, able to identifies opportunities and come up with new ideas. You’ll have a strong interest in creativity, trends and marketing.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute clear strategy for agency's reputation and fame
  • Craft distinctive external narrative across channels for Saatchi and Saatchi
  • Cultivate relationships with target journalists and internal stakeholders
  • Write press releases, reactive statements, and Q&As
  • Proactively pitch media features and commentary
  • Provide PR counsel for client briefs and internal projects

Qualifications

  • A bold and ambitious self-starter who takes the initiative, is proactive and resilient, and comfortable representing PR & comms interests with senior stakeholders and big personalities.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the media and experience of managing issues.
  • Organised, good at planning ahead with excellent attention to detail.
  • Natural gravitas, a great communicator and collaborator, and used to working with multiple stakeholders.
  • At home in a fast-paced environment with the ability to think on your feet, work in an agile manner and adapt to changing requests.
  • A team player, with the ability to remain flexible.
  • Excellent written English.
  • Able to think on your feet, work in an agile manner and adapt to evolving needs.
  • Engaging, positive with an infectious enthusiasm, someone that people naturally gravitate to and want to work with.
  • Corporate and b2b media relations experience.
  • Creative industry trade press experience is a bonus but not necessarily required.
