Role Overview:

We’re looking for an outstanding SVP, Commerce, Practice Lead leader to help lead our growing Commerce Practice for Zenith US.  This person will have responsibility on key existing Commerce clients, including the exciting Coty business, along with other key agency clients.  In addition to the responsibilities on Coty, this person will also be tasked with driving organic growth across our broader client base & with new business.

We are looking for someone who can win the hearts of clients, lead our client practice teams & skillfully juggle multiple clients & partners.  This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Commerce Practitioner to help grow & lead this important discipline for the agency & our clients.  PNL management & the ability to connect client profitability & goals through to media strategy is a critical component of this role. 

We are looking for a self-starter with a passion to grow & advance our client’s business & our own team & capabilities.  The role will report directly into the Zenith’s President of Growth Practices (Commerce, Content & Cultural Convergence), so also offers opportunity to collaborate across these increasingly convergent fields, especially as areas like Social Commerce continue to grow & RMN offerings become more robust.  

While Retail Media Network expertise is a priority, this role is ideal for a true Commerce polymath rather than a single-field expert.  Qualified candidates will ideally also have experience or passion for Social Commerce & DTC.

What you’ll do:

The SVP, Commerce, Practice Lead will be the lead of our Commerce COE for our key Coty relationship & other Zenith clients which means maintaining relationships with retail partners, establishing & implementing best practices as it pertains to Commerce strategy & activation, collaborating with other performance teams to train & grow the commerce capability across our talent base.  

You’ll also be responsible for providing leadership on key commerce clients, responsible for leading the dedicated teams supporting those businesses, ensuring that brilliant basics foundations are in place, along with continuing to advance strategies & activation in this continually advancing space.  You’ll drive integration within broader brand plans & strategies & help drive full end to end planning.

You will be the connector across the agency teams, & client teams, in driving commerce across the full funnel and working with Data and Analytics to develop Commerce Learning agendas. You will serve as the main point of contact across senior clients and act as a leader across the full agency team.    

Day to day, your role includes:

  • Manage growing Commerce teams across the agency, providing leadership, strategic counsel, establish best practices & ways of working that can carry across teams
  • For key, priority clients, oversee the teams ensuring optimized planning and activation of campaigns across retail commerce space, including: Amazon (search and display), Walmart Media Group, Kroger, Target Roundel, Macy’s Media Network, Walgreens, CVS and retail networks such as Criteo and Citrus Ads.  
  • Interpret client needs, and develop strategic solutions that address the needs and goals for their business, both for existing clients, as well as organic growth opportunities
  • Serve as partner to Client Leaders to grow & build optimal commerce support within their teams
  • Partner closely with Strategy teams & investment counterparts to ensure commerce plans fit within overall go-to-market approach
  • Serve as liaison to Publicis Media Commerce practice to ensure we are bringing best in class tools and solutions to our clients
  • Support in any new business pitches and related work as required
  • Be a leader through strength and stability -- functioning as a point of escalation for clients and team members as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 – 12 years of media planning and buying experience, with at least 5 years in digital commerce role specifically. A background in shopper marketing and in-depth knowledge of the retail commerce landscape is critical.
  • Superior client service experience with proven ability to provide strategic media recommendations, integrated commerce strategies that balance brilliant basics + innovation/emerging channels
  • Strong command of commerce platforms, syndicated research tools, and reporting resources such as Amazon, Walmart Media Group, and Roundel
  • Deep relationships in the commerce industry, including with publishers, tech platforms, and brand teams
  • 5-8 years of people managing experience, overseeing five or more reports in an account management/client services team
  • Bachelors degree
  • Operates with sense of urgency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership ability to drive team to deliver results
  • Proven track record of driving growth for agency & clients
  • Excellent negotiation skills and understanding of how to add incremental value and communicate that to our clients
  • Able to package, merchandise, and sell in concepts and new opportunities
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting

Compensation Range:  $167,000 - $285,000 annually.  This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
