Job Description

This newly created role will report into the head of department and support the leadership of the Zenith Global paid social team; 120+ paid social experts located across three continents.

The Paid Social Operations Lead will focus on shaping the engagement models, processes and ways of working for the whole department; reviewing, refining and redefining efficient operations across both new and current clients. The role also has the remit to be creative; supporting the development and delivery of innovative new products and thought-leadership initiatives. The role will support and direct senior leads across the whole department, with line management responsibility for at least three Paid Social Directors in London.

This unique role is the outcome of sustained departmental growth. We are looking for someone who can come in and immediately make an impact. This person should exude confidence and be able to collaborate, motivate, educate and aid the development of other members of the team. Whilst the successful candidate will be well supported, it is expected that they should be able to ‘hit the ground running’, and for the most part be able to manage their workload autonomously.

  1. Talent
  • Leads talent recruitment, retention and onboarding for paid social department.
  • Supports managers across the team in succession planning; devising actionable training and development plans tailored by level.
  • Mentors nominated senior leads responsible for driving forward leadership initiatives within the team, ensuring momentum and progression of these projects.
  • Line management of at least three paid social directors who oversee the output of some of the largest hubs in the team; providing coaching and on-the-job training.
  1. Operational Excellence
  • Defines what good looks like; evaluating current ways of working to develop a standardized suite of templates and processes to ensure successful client onboarding and efficiency across current clients. 
  • Stays abreast of new technology and proprietary tools that can improve efficiency and drive effectiveness, and oversees testing and implementation across the team.
  1. Growth
  • Leads financial management and investment tracking for paid social within the agency and ensures best practice financial processes are followed across the department.
  • Management of new business pipeline; identifying new out of scope projects or diverse revenue streams, developing resource plans to deliver.
  • Represents social during new business onboarding, defining engagement models, team structures and oversees smooth transitions.
  1. Product development and adoption
  • Leads scaling and implementation of new paid social tools within Zenith Global, including training, product support and documentation of case studies.


Must Have

  • Must currently be a Business Director or Director in a paid social team with multi-market remit
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of paid social media and be able to articulate a clear perspective around new technologies, platforms and best practices
  • Experience leading large, hybrid teams and managing within a matrix: developing team structure and operational approach, hiring and developing talent, training, conducting appraisals and performance management.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and client development, scoping new projects and transforming ways of working.
  • Worked on new business onboarding and transitions

Will Ideally Have

  • Experience in agile working/project management, overseeing multiple work-streams.
  • Been part of a management/leadership team focusing not only on a client account but a wider team.
  • First-hand knowledge of third party marketing tools, data governance and visualization platforms, measurement technology and task management tools; e.g. Jira,, Smartsheets, Mediaocean, Looker, PowerBI, Conversions API etc
  • Advanced platform certifications e.g. Meta Certified Marketing Science Professional
