Job Description

What You’ll Do:

We’re looking for a strong leader with experience creating internet-breaking social content for brands.

You will help lead a new and growing team of content creators, internet culture geeks, TikTok natives, who love staying on top of the latest cultural phenomenon to inspire and create cool s***.  This team is made of up hybrid scrappy, skillsets who collaboratively ideate, concept, and execute (including shooting and editing) social-first content for exciting brands. The emphasis will be on lo-fi social content and TikTok in particular, but ultimately, we’re looking for creative, out-of-the-box thinkers prized to break the internet and trades.

You’ll also help lead a weekly culture briefing meeting and be expected to highlight trends relevant to a specific brand or audience that showed up in your fyp or feed that week as inspiration. This team’s emphasis is as much on trend mining as it is content creation, therefore you should enjoy having your finger on the pulse of emerging opportunities for a brand to participate in and help shape culture.

Your role will be to manage and nurture a this fast-paced team to continue to elevate the quality and consistency of content creation across brands. That includes providing creative oversight and feedback, training, and development to improve team skillset, and leading or participating in team-building activities.

You should feel comfortable and confident advocating for and selling in the teams’ services to new or existing clients. Much of the work will come from organic growth via this role’s influence and leadership. Developing content, thought leadership, and talk track to help raise awareness and enthusiasm for the team will also be expected in partnership with strategic leadership.

The vision for the team is to continue to find new and innovative ways to apply social and cultural insights to a variety of work. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities for both the team and for clients with the potential to disrupt and stand out.

  • You’re an expert conceptual content creator with deep experience in video production and editing for social media.
  • You’re a storyteller who can make captivating content across all platforms that ranges from educational to emotional and everything in between.

  • You have experience translating big ideas and brand campaigns into social content and/or leveraging social trends and insights to inform both.
  • You’re a people leader and enjoying mentoring and developing junior talent.
  • You know how to sell what you do with a compelling elevator pitch that catches the interest of leading brands.
  • You’re interested in and understand Gen-Z culture.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of content creators by overseeing and elevating the day-to-day work and their long term development.
  • Concept and execute all content for clients with ranging applications.
  • Develop thought leadership to put the team front and center in the trades.
  • Help sell in new team work across new and existing clients.
  • Participate in new business opportunities as it pertains to the team’s offering.
  • Lead and inform weekly Culture Briefing.
  • Partner with creative team and social strategists to make sure content is not only relevant, native to platform, but on-brand.
  • Stay on top of ever-changing internet trends or other relevant conversations in the social space.
  • Ideate, film, edit and write post-copy to support content.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience in video content creation for social media at a consumer-facing brand or agency or similar experience.
  • Strong understanding of opportunities and limitations of all popular social platforms.
  • Keen eye for design/art direction/leveraging props and styling.
  • Collaborative work ethic.
  • Experience creating various types of content from product shots to storytelling.
  • Senior experience shooting and lighting video content and still photography.
  • Mandatory: proficient with editing software, both in app and Premiere.
  • Nice to have: Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, AfterEffects, and Illustrator.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, coordinating multiple projects simultaneously with hard deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability in adapting brand voices and visual identities to videos.
  • Ability to manage projects from ideation to production, through post-production and delivery.
  • Good presentation skills.
