ASSOCIATE PRODUCT OWNER

The Associate Product Owner will play a crucial role in supporting the Product Owner and the team in executing the vision and strategy of the Business Line. They will be responsible for collecting product data, conducting customer research, coordinating with stakeholders, and crafting user stories + driving design for new product features. Working closely with one or more product managers, the Associate Product Owner will enable them to work more effectively and efficiently.

Reports to Product team lead: risks and help needed, flows/strategy/status of big bets.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Project-Related Objectives:

  • Lead the discovery and development of new features from conception to implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholders' expectations.
  • Skillfully manage and articulate the project backlog, ensuring that priorities are well defined, and user stories are clear and actionable.
  • Act as a quality gatekeeper before feature releases ensuring a high standard of quality and functionality while identifying potential issues before they reach the production environment.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Maintain strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders, measuring success through positive 360-degree reviews.

Teamwork and Leadership:

  • Identify and communicate opportunities for cross-team process improvements, documenting actionable recommendations.
  • Facilitate cross-team sessions effectively, particularly team retrospectives, documenting outcomes and recommendations.
  • Foster a positive and resilient team culture, ensuring high team morale even during challenging project phases.

Performance Metrics Objectives:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs), and present accurate performance data to the team.
  • Stimulate team thinking by challenging current performance metrics, presenting and gaining acceptance for alternative KPIs that better reflect product health or growth.

REQUIREMENTS

Hard Skills:

  • Product Development Expertise: Proficiency in leading the discovery and development of new features from conception to implementation.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage project backlogs effectively, with skills in prioritizing, defining clear and actionable user stories, and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Data Analysis and KPI Management: Strong skills in collecting product data, understanding key performance indicators, and presenting performance data accurately.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Experience in coordinating with various stakeholders and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Quality Assurance: Competence in acting as a gatekeeper for feature releases to ensure high functionality and identify potential issues.
  • Process Documentation: Ability to document processes, outcomes, and recommendations clearly and effectively.
  • Time Management: Familiarity with Timesheet systems and adherence to deadlines for task completion and reporting.

Soft Skills:

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder management, team interactions, and reporting.
  • Teamwork and Leadership: Ability to foster a positive team culture, motivate team members, and identify cross-team improvement opportunities.
