Job Description

To lead, manage, and develop the US Apex finance team, within Publicis Groupe, with a core focus on revenue forecast and modeling.

Overview of role

  • Reporting to the CFO, PMX US with accountability to the Global CEO, Apex and the President, Apex US
  • Responsible for the day-to-day financial management of Apex Exchange US, with a focus on planning, analysis, and achievement of the company’s top-line revenue growth targets in a  fast-moving business
  • Engage on a daily basis with key Apex stakeholders including Media, Operations and Business leads
  • Lead the Finance function including FP&A, Accounting, Client Finance and Reporting in order to achieve optimal performance of the day to day business, provide mentorship and training to the team. Collaborate and provide relevant support with internal teams where appropriate
  • Monitor progress against Apex revenue and PBOI targets, including phasing accuracy, as well as against other key KPI’s via detailed variance analysis/commentaries
  • Ensure compliance with Janus, Publicis Groupe’s internal policies and control procedures, and manage risk accordingly across our businesses

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget/forecast monthly, quarterly, and annually to provide all analysis/commentaries, with a critical focus on accurately modeling client revenue and phasing across a portfolio of 200+ clients in a discretionary-based media business
  • Work closely with the Groupe Media Solutions team (sales) to identify sales pipeline and integrate into forecasts
  • Ensure balance sheet and P&L accounts are properly reconciled monthly
  • Review and ensure integrity of all forecasts.  This includes detailed review of all client billing and revenue metrics, and allocation of budgets/forecasts to internal agency brands thru the management of multiple P&L’s
  • Evaluate and improve efficiencies of accounting practices, processes, policies, and controls
  • Present monthly balance sheet reviews to the CFO to identify and manage risk across the unit
  • Contribute to the preparation of forecast presentations for upper management
  • Overall responsibility for day to day reporting to the regional finance team for consolidation purposes, including completion of templates, Oracle HFM maintenance, ad-hoc questions, etc.
  • Overall day to day management of internal and external audit processes, including liaison with internal Groupe teams to provide updates and explanations of issues
  • Management of Apex Client finance team (client billing) as well as maintaining and closing accounts receivables and management of vendor payment issues/accounts payable. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years Accounting/Financial experience
  • Significant advertising agency/marketing industry experience (preferably within trading or performance divisions)
  • Experience gathering and evaluating financial information and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership
  • Experience of working within a matrix, multi-divisional business; with a broad range of finance and commercial experience
  • Experience managing the finance function (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) within a diverse, division-based entity
  • An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information both up and down
  • Flexible and collaborative approach, with an ability to collaborate cross-functionally, prioritize multiple deliverables, and thrive in and enjoy a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • A results-oriented individual with a clear passion for winning; a hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to implement lasting, positive improvements
  • Mature and proactive, with evidence of having worked as a true business leader in a multi-divisional organization
  • CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Advanced PC skills - Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook

Compensation Range: $167,000-273,500 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
