Job Description

As an Account Director, you are responsible for the client/ agency relationships and are the key contact with your clients. You love working with Big Brands and do Global Campaigns. You are not afraid of challenges and make sure the appointments between the agency and the client are complied with and take your responsibility for the quality of the services of the agency. 

You know your client thoroughly: from their personal birthdays and vacation plans to who their competitors are; you know the culture of the company and you understand their goals. 

Goal of the position 

As a good Account Director you recognize problems and solve them. You are the captain of the team that monitors the process. And not unimportantly, you ensure that there is enough work for the team. You also make sure there’s a smooth production of campaigns: from briefing the creatives till managing budgets and effectively using stakeholders. Within your account/cell you have close contact with the creative director, senior project manager and the strategist to discuss the course of events. And you report to the Client Business Lead on the status of your cell. 

What will you be doing? 

Operationally

  • You are the contact person of the team, the captain of the team; 

  • Take the lead in the weekly and daily kickoff, keep an overview of the team; 

  • Ensures that the right priorities are given to projects in consultation with the team; 

  • Provides sufficient capacity in the team, keep an eye on holidays and illness; 

  • Is involved in reviews and presentations, keep the briefing in mind;

  • Keeps an eye on the budgets together with project management and makes forecasts and adjusts accordingly to be billable. 

Client-facing

  • Is responsible to the client for the output of the team. Is judged on the quality and the process; 

  • Maintain a relationship based on trust with the client. To ensure that the team can work with confidence; 

  • Works with the client at a strategic level to shape long-term plans; also challenging them to provoke fruitful conversations.. 

  • Is in consultation with the client about budgets and ensures that these are sufficient for the demand, but that they are also optimally spent on the output. 

Managing role

  • You will be responsible for 3-5 direct reports. 

  • Coach and have 1:1 meeting with your team members 

  • Have performance and appraisal interviews in consultation with your manager; 

  • You have close contact with the Group Heads regarding vacancies and your team; 

  • You onboard new hires; 

  • You know how to do absence management; 

  • The most important — you help to contribute to a team spirit, organize (and participate) in team drinks, outings and other activities to keep the climate of the team at a very positive level.
