Global Digital Business Director

  • Full-time

Company Description

We are Zenith. We invented the media agency in 1988, and 12 years later, we were the first to put effectiveness at the heart of our work, when we became the ROI Agency. For us, ROI is about improving the fortunes of brands. All 450 of us come to work every day with the aim of leading our clients down more profitable paths.

But that is getting harder. With new channels, data sources and technologies multiplying the decisions you have to make every day, there are so many possible paths to success. At the same time, the asks of communications are bigger than ever: ‘make my brand no.1’, ‘help me become the most loved brand in the category’, ‘get me growth whilst my competitors decline.’ So we HAVE to help clients make bolder moves. We need to take them down different, braver, more profitable paths. That’s what we do.

Zenith is a distinct agency brand within Publicis Media which is part of the Publicis Groupe. Publicis Media is a brand led organisation powered by the scale and insight of the practices; Publicis Media Exchange, Publicis Media Content, Performics, Data Sciences and Commerce.

The Global Digital Business Director will co-lead digital and data transformation for Nomad Foods, which is an FMCG client that has a history of innovation and wants to be at the forefront of digital, data and e-commerce in the next few years.

The Global Digital Business Director will spend c. 60% of their time on this client and will be working alongside a team of very strong channel experts (SEO, Commerce, Programmatic, etc.), will report directly to the Global Client Lead, and be supported by Zenith Global’s Chief Digital Officer.

The role is a great blend of strategy and operational oversight. Nomad has robust Media Guidelines and Digital roadmaps / playbooks which get updated annually, which means we are building off a very strong foundation and not from the ground up.

The Global Digital Business Director will be driving thought leadership in the network, across 17+ markets and working alongside a very strong team. The role currently has two direct reports but is extremely well supported by a wider account management team, and channel and discipline experts.

The Global Digital Business Director will also oversee the Nomad Foods Digital Activation and Operations Hub. Search and SEO is activated within the local markets, whilst Social and Programmatic is hubbed and activated centrally. Although not directly in charge of activation, the Global Digital Business Director will need to ensure the markets and activation hub are planning and implementing based on agreed KPIs as well-defined guidelines.

Whilst Nomad Foods is the priority account, the Global Digital Business Director will also have the opportunity to be exposed to other categories by working on AlUla (25%), a tourist destination in Saudi Arabia, who will soon launch this exotic location to a global travel market, and Edrington (15%).

Edrington is one of the most successful spirits producers in the world yet retain an independent Scottish identity and a longer-term business approach (relative to their category) which makes them a pleasure to deal with. Their brands include The Macallan, The Famous Grouse, Highland Park and The Glenrothes.

The business is headquartered in Glasgow and the company’s business model has always had social responsibility at its core. When the Robertson sisters transferred their shareholding & ownership in Edrington to the newly formed Robertson Trust in 1961, this ensured Edrington’s independence. The company donates a portion of profits to good causes chosen by staff in its overseas offices. The values of the organisation are complemented by highly rated premium brands.
