Job Description

As a Research Director on the Consumer Research team, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of multiple medium- to large-scale research projects for some amazing clients. You’ll perform as well as supervise the tasks required for successful project delivery, with a specific focus on ensuring first-rate client relationships. The ability to confidently and clearly present research to clients will be needed too.

We’re looking for someone with extensive experience in consumer/market research, covering the specific processes involved in delivering international quantitative research against tight deadlines. Experience in qualitative research is of interest, but not a must-have, and working knowledge of a wide range of research approaches and methodologies will be of great benefit to you in this role.

You’ll need to be an enthusiastic team player able to work and liaise with seniors, juniors, suppliers and clients to deliver the best for PSE. A keen interest and knowledge of sport is desirable.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Independently coordinates and manages different project tasks for medium to large projects.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks and ensures the more junior staff are aware of - and working with them on - set deadlines and objectives.
  • Ensures that the very highest level of care and attention is given to delivering data and insights to clients, consistent with the high standards that differentiate PSE from its competitors.
  • Liaises effectively and professionally with senior level clients, as an “overseer” on smaller projects and as the main day-to-day contact on key clients.
  • Identifies, compiles and delivers key findings and research insight presentations to clients in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Works with the Head of Consumer Research in the development of new business and closely supports them during the scoping of top-level research proposals. This should include the investigation of new products, technologies and methodologies, the writing and presentation of detailed medium- to large-scale proposals, and client pitches.
  • Challenges client briefs and recommends appropriate methodologies to meet research objectives, and constantly thinks of ways in which client delivery can be enhanced and made more efficient.
  • Adds value, industry knowledge and research insights to reports, and ensures delivery is as clear and as impactful as possible.
  • Constantly keeps an “ear-to-the-ground” for news on PSE’s existing clients, as well as for relevant news that may open-up opportunities for new business.
  • Cost out medium- and large-scale projects with minimal guidance from the Head of Consumer Research.
