Job Description

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative Platforms Consulting Director to join our team in PMX Consulting, part of Publicis Media. This position is responsible for delivering Google Marketing Platform (GMP) consulting for enterprise level clients, providing innovative digital media solutions including licensing services, and ensuring well planned and successful execution to deliver client business objectives across all GMP products (DV360, Campaign Manager, SA360 and Google Analytics).

The ideal candidate will be a strategically focused leader with experience advising on marketing strategy, data and technology requirements. The candidate will be responsible for designing GMP-specific solutions for clients and so will ideally have experience of Google’s products and of the Google Marketing Platform. They will be a digital media specialist that act as an extension of our Agency teams to help our clients drive significant growth by focusing on the right metrics and the right strategies for deploying GMP and its constituent elements.

This position sits in the PMX Platform Impact team, reporting to the Head of Platforms Consulting. The purpose of the Platform Impact team is to empower Publicis clients to lead in the platform world by harnessing the power of data and technology​. The Platform impact team offer:

  • Strategic consulting to support client data and technology decisions and investments
  • Martech and adtech solutions design, selection, and implementation across all major tech vendors
  • Support for digital transformation at all stages of maturity and in specialist disciplines

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and nurture relationships with relevant Publicis Media practices (e.g. TAAG, Performics) and Groupe functions (e.g. PM Dragonfly, Sapient) across key EMEA markets with the ultimate ambition of creating, pitching and delivering enterprise GMP/GCP solutions to clients as required.
  • Collaborate with agency teams to consult on client challenges and identify opportunities to increase Publics share of GMP adoption and solutions.
  • Work with clients to understand existing marketing and advertising challenges, create GMP/GCP specific maturity roadmaps and proactively identify new project opportunities.
  • Assess client requirements and make data-driven recommendations that incorporate both internal and external data and technology solutions, considering the broader martech, adtech, and commerce ecosystem.
  • Lead pre-sales process with clients, from opportunity identification to project launch, including discovery, proposal creation, pitching and operational set up. 
  • Develop new data and technology propositions and products based on constantly evolving marketplace and agency/client needs.
  • Spearhead the execution of 3-4 core GMP solutions and GMP maturity projects on behalf of the client.
  • Build relationship and regularly engage with Google Data and Tech Partners to stay abreast of product roadmap and feature updates as well as to promote Publicis GMP capability across select clients.
  • Act as a connective tissue between relevant teams, practice and market leads to grow adoption of Platform Impact tools and share project learnings for clients.
  • Stay abreast of the constantly evolving marketplace and collaborate closely with Agency Teams and Practice leads to ensure marketplace POVs address Client concerns and anticipate Client needs
  • Lead the development of Publicis Media and Client focused case studies that highlight the results of strategic Tech Maturity Projects
  • Closely collaborate Product and Technical leads on the development of Client education and thought-leadership deliverables.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in the ad tech or mar tech landscape
  • Strong track record of leadership in platform consulting and related strategic planning at holding company and/or media agency, showing a history of innovation and novel solutions to client challenges
  • In-depth understanding of digital media planning, strategy, negotiation, and implementation as well as the wider marketing & advertising industry as a whole
  • Experience managing in a matrix structure, including negotiating with, enabling, and managing a range of different stakeholders

CRITICAL SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of the martech and adtech platforms (web, mobile, tablets, PC; DSP, SSP, Ad Server, Verification, Analytics; Search, Social, Programmatic; Data Partners; and so on) for holistic user experiences and data handling
  • Extensive understanding of GMP product suite and associated tech maturity projects.
  • Strategic thinker and able to focus on the business objective.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to describe / visualise complex ideas in a simple way.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you must be able to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience
