Job Description

  • Under the Managing Director and the COO, the Engineer is responsible for the support, maintenance and improvement of the technology and infrastructure at Cheat
  • Make sure Colourists, Producers, Ops and Assists have what they need from the engineering department to complete all jobs to a high standard
  • Manage and maintain Linux and Macos servers and workstations
  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure (firewall, switches)
  • Install, deploy, and troubleshoot colour grading and VFX tools including Flame and Davinci Resolve; as well as the various tools and applications used at Cheat
  • Configure and monitor backups, verify them with regular restorations
  • Manage projects lifecycle (archives and restorations)
  • Install, test and troubleshoot high-end video and audio hardware
  • Document the work and keep inventory up to date
  • Be active in seeking improvements to the infrastructure and processes

Qualifications

  • Linux experience in servers and workstation environment (centos & ubuntu server)
  • Knowledge of macos, windows 10 and windows server administration.
  • Network administration and configuration
  • Linux command line usage. Scripting with bash and/or python
  • Storage administration, monitoring and troubleshooting, especially using SMB protocol
  • Experience supporting Colour Grading or VFX Operators and systems (particularly on Davinci Resolve and Flame)
