The Role

Lead the daily planning and management of client communication requirements, working closely with the Business Manager or Business Director to successfully run a group of clients.

What you will be doing

THE MEDIA PLANNING PROCESS:

  • Undertake research to aid strategy development and other planning requirements across the planning process. This includethe s use of MBM’s syndicated research products such as Nielsen CMI, Adquest and online ratings and other tools such as, but not limited to Google Trends and WARC.
  • Contribute to the wider strategic planning process as directed by Managers Implementation planning – Formulate strong implementation recommendations and schedules that springboard from strategy
  • Use MBM measurement tools to project the performance of various media schedules.

IMPLEMENTATION AND MEDIA BUYING:

  • Take responsibility for ensuring campaigns are executed to plan including those delivered by other specialists to deliver total client outcomes
  • Following the approval of media strategy, brief and assess responses from media partners
  • Negotiate with media suppliers, for best possible client outcome.
  • With administrative support, manage the provision of media contracts with suppliers, ensuring they are consistent with the approved plan
  • Oversee all buy changes to ensure any schedule updates are carried through to revisions in media contracts and live media buys
  • Oversees junior account administration including media bookings, spec sheets, proof of postings with support staff
  • Ensure all buy changes and optimisations are carried through to any necessary client approvals and schedule updates approved through Hello Sign.
  • Use the MBM billing system (Pegasus) to enter all media billings
  • Take ownership of any invoice queries, resolving these quickly and efficiently.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT:

  • Work alongside your managers to deliver impeccable account servicing.
  • Exceptional client servicing skills, acknowledging client requests, managing response timelines and exceeding their expectations
  • Grow relationships with creative agency partners to ensure media thinking is applied to creative thinking. Have impeccable time management skills and the ability to have open and honest conversations with clients about deliverables for the broader team.

REPORTING AND INSIGHTS:

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of research tools and media platform opportunities to understand audience targeting and measurement capabilities
  • Use Industry tools, syndicated, client, research and other data sources to identify insights/information which shape our projects and identify opportunities
  • Reporting - conceive, challenge and nuance reports to produce accurate insightful reporting for clients, carrying learnings into future practice
  • Take learnings from reporting and feed this back into planning future activity.

TEAM MANAGEMENT:

  • Work closely alongside specialist services workstreams to deliver valuable contributions to the planning and campaign delivery outcomes
  • Ensure appropriate team processes are in place to support effective campaign implementation, management, and delivery
  • Mentor and develop any direct reports with relevant training and pathway development plans.

COMMUNICATIONS AND PRESENTATION:

  • Hold strong writing skills with particular experience writing client facing presentations
  • The ability to present media strategies and plans to clients in a compelling way that gives the client confidence in the recommendation.

MARKET KNOWLEDGE AND FINANCIAL ACUMEN:

  • Invest in developing an understanding of the NZ media landscape and macro and micro trends affecting the way we approach communications.
  • Financial acumen - costs accurately assessed and invoiced via Pegasus.
  • Strong understanding of billing, remuneration and numeracy principles.
  • Accurately completes time sheets.
