Job Description

Formerly Known As is seeking a talented, creative problem-solver who is equal parts brand and content strategist to join our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day strategic thought leader across multiple brands. 
  • Leadership that inspires great work across disciplines and departments. 
  • Bring brand stories to life in compelling ways for clients, customers, and prospects. 
  • Develop inspirational briefings and single-minded briefs that result in extraordinary creative content and breakthrough ideas. 
  • Mine research and insights to feed development of brand architecture, platforms and campaigns. 
  • Build communications frameworks and recommend channel strategies and messaging mapped to customer journeys. 
  • Distill audience, cultural, and contextual analysis to lead new areas of opportunity. 
  • Facilitate planning and ideation sessions at the agency and with clients.
  • Fluent in primary, secondary and syndicated research (e.g., comScore, Simmons, MRI, 
  • Forrester, eMarketer, Mintel, etc.) and proficient in observation tools (i.e., online media brand studies, digital ethnography, and customer journey studies). 
  • Mentorship and potential management of junior staff members.
  • Lead and/or support omni-channel new business initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ agency experience developing insights, distilling cultural trends, and driving big ideas.
  • Strong brand communications strategy background with blue-chip brands.
  • Collaborative nature, partnering with other strategists and creative, data, technology, and account teams.
  • Command a room with an energetic, engaging, and inspirational presentation style, particularly with senior agency and client staff.
  • Excellent writer and vivid presentation creator.
  • Strong agency planning pedigree (e.g., top agency shop; samples of work and briefs appreciated). 
  • Autonomous, fearless, and ready for challenges. 
  • A natural problem solver who can identify the missing piece and way forward.
  • May require occasional overnight travel.
