DIGITAL LAB TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Senior Mastering Producer the Digital Lab Technician will play a vital role in the day to day operations of the Digital Lab.

Working within the Mastering team, the Digital Lab Technician will oversee creation and distribution QC of DCP’s, IMF’s, AS-11’s and all other Picture Post Production deliverables. They will play a key part in the expansion and development of the facility by assisting in the training of new teammates and working with relevant in-house and external teams and industry boards to research and develop new processes, workflows and technologies.

Job Description

Daily Responsibilities will include

  • Creation and delivery of Theatrical and Broadcast deliverables for Picture Post and Distribution clients
  • Conducting QC’s of HARBOR outputted assets as well as deliverables from other vendors.
  • I/O tasks including overseeing delivery and receipt of assets
  • Hosting client attended QC’s and Screenings
  • Conforming & fixing source assets
  • Communicating relevant information and issues to HARBOR staff and clientele
  • Working with commercial and technology teams to develop workflows and strategies for potential growth areas
  • Other duties, as required and assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Background

  • Extensive knowledge of latest mastering and distribution practices and industry trends
  • Previous experience of encoding, transcoding, editing, compression, validation, QC, and sound conform/fix tasks.
  • Hands on knowledge of Encoding & Transcoding Tools
  • QC Experience
  • Prior understanding of theatre operation
  • IMF & AS-11 experience advantageous
  • Knowledge of Linux, Windows & IO operating systems
  • Familiarity of industry standard electronic delivery tools
  • Good understanding of color science
  • Customer service experience
