Job Description

The VP, Director of Audience & Insights; Research is a leader within the broader Audience & Insights team, primarily supporting our client business (mobile consumer electronics category). This person is responsible for leading the generation of insights to support media strategy, activation, consumer research and measurement teams. Using research, data, and analytics techniques, this role will help answer client business questions and establish/implement best practices. They help guide and anticipate needs to help drive the business forward; a creative thinker, this person is always in search of both the numbers and the ‘why’ behind the numbers.

Day-to-day, your role includes:

Steward Research practice as a thought-leader and subject matter expert

  • Manage relationship with brand (mobile consumer electronics category) media teams and Consumer Insights team; driving the business forward with insight-driven solutions
  • Drives cross-functional collaboration, working closely with Strategy teams to drive meaningful quantitative and qualitative research solutions to inform campaign audience strategy

Deliver actionable research and insights to inform the client's audience approach & business

  • Develop audience approach using mix of syndicated and proprietary resources to identify and understand opportunity audiences
  • Work closely with A&I Activation to connect the dots between Insights & Strategic audiences through to activation
  • Help steward Ad Effectiveness team by supporting study implementation by translating KPIs and business goals into survey design
  • Develop competitive insights to further understand the competitive landscape and marketplace
  • Recommend innovative and solutions-oriented approaches tied to actionable media and marketing implications

The VP/D of A&I Research…

  • Thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment and is an effective time-manager
  • Has agency or research experience in a client-facing role; with experience managing one or more direct report(s)
  • Has excellent organization and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Has an ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple functions (analytics, strategy, investment, creative)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, business, engineering, statistics, marketing, or similar discipline or 5+ years working in an agency or research environment
  • Familiarity with syndicated audience solutions (MRI, GWI, etc)
  • Experience with custom quantitative/qualitative research solutions (survey design, focus groups, etc)
  • Understanding and application of brand health metrics and application to media strategy
  • Experience and understanding of paid media, both offline and digital
