Job Description

The Global Media team forms part of Publicis Groupe’s Global Services offering – alongside Commerce, Production, and Content. It exists to define and then scale the best of our media proposition through existing clients and new business prospects.

This team has representation in Data and Technology (led by Steve Simpson) and Strategy (led by Rian Shah). Collectively, they are charged with defining a winning global media proposition and taking that to market to drive disproportionate growth for both us and our clients.

Success will defined as driving greater consistency of the media product across global markets, improving new business conversion and accelerating the development of existing clients.

Key Responsibilities:

To help define and then scale a best-in-class media product, relevant to our clients and agency brands around the world.

To deliver contemporary planning work – work that is informed by data, inspires creativity, and delivers demonstrable growth. The role involves both direct action on select global clients, as well as designing the techniques, training and processes to raise the bar for the media practice globally.

To support the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) in the production of planning work, thought leadership, and perspectives for clients and new business.

To support the CSO in the formation and running of a global product council in order to raise the quality of our strategy work.

As this team develops a new global operating system for media, the strategy director will be responsible for driving adoption on global clients.

The Person:

A planner or strategist from any discipline could be suited to this role. They will think truly end-to-end, considering how brands are experienced in media, content, and commerce. They will be naturally interested in the sharp end of our business in terms of data and technology, but they will be well supported by the rest of the team in these areas. They will come into a senior team and must be willing and able to tell a simple story whilst delivering a strong planning point of view.

Qualifications

This person needs a strong background in planning craft and an instinct for modern brand-building. They will be familiar with the connection between business and marketing strategy, audience segmentation, and communications planning in its broadest sense. They will be comfortable briefing research projects and working with analysts to identify growth opportunities and draw stories out of data.

They will be working with strategy and planning teams in multiple markets, often with a need to raise the bar or lead strategic work with teams they are meeting for the first time.

Successful Criteria:

  • Adoption of global media operating system and tools
  • Client retention and satisfaction scores
  • New business conversion
  • Improvement in media-driven effectiveness on selected clients
  • Improvement in quality of global planning (KPI to be defined)
