Job Description

CitrusAd provides e-commerce retailers with a SaaS digital advertising platform that unleashes the potential of an online shelf space. Through its white-label Retail Media Platform, CitrusAd empowers retailers to monetize their site traffic using personalized advertisement solutions including Sponsored Product listings, Responsive Display Banners, Email advertising, Branded Landing pages, and much more. 

This role is responsible for upholding the reliability vision and acts as the conduit and diplomat, balancing the needs of the development teams and the needs of the business stakeholders to ensure new products, features, updates and fixes can be released quickly while also making sure that the
products and services function flawlessly, handling the increasing customer demands.
The Platform Operations Engineer works closely with the Engineering team to ensure ongoing system reliability in an operational capacity as well as supporting the Technical Account Managers within Platforms. This role is part of the team responsible for keeping services available 24/7/365 a year, as CitrusAds success depends heavily on uptime, availability and reliability of services while scaling and rapid feature delivery.

● Work with the wider Engineering, Product, Delivery and Security teams to ensure that
appropriate attention is given to production/system reliability for our customers.
● Uphold Operational Practices in conjunction with the Product and Engineering teams (e.g.
understanding how product feature development could affect the system’s overall reliability,
performance or our customers).
● Collaborate with Customer Support, Customer Success, Product and Engineering teams to
ensure uptime, response time and availability targets are met.
● Practice incident management processes and provide on-call capability
● Take ownership of complex issues related to performance, reliability, and scalability and
leading resolution of serious incidents and events
● Build and maintain a strong knowledge of Citrus’ product offerings and be able to provide
education on business and technical issues, and act as an escalation point for Customer
Support and the Technical Account Management teams.


About you:

We are looking for a Platform Operations Engineer who has the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
● 1-2+ years platform operations engineering, SRE, or DevOps experience and industry
experience in a support role in a business-to-business, large/strategic customer segment
● Experience with configuration, migration and deployment experience related to GCP, Azure
or AWS IaaS/PaaS technologies
● Innovative and intuitive with a love of collaborative problem-solving.
● Demonstrable expertise in managing large-scale, reliable distributed applications
● Experience & love of using system monitoring tools (e.g. Dynatrace, New Relic, DataDog ...)
● Experience in cloud infrastructure principles and methodologies
● Deep understanding of microservice architecture and best practices advantageous
experience gained within Ad technologies and API-based systems
● Experience working with multi region geo-localized data and services, running
high-availability database systems in a production environment
● Experience operating complex multi-datacenter, multi-cluster environment and a strong
understanding of multi-tenancy and security
● Experience with enterprise-class SQL, NoSQL and big data databases
● Knowledge in debugging issues in the following languages: JavaScript, SQL, HTML, XML
● Ability to lead and negotiate business reliability that balances technical capability, cost, and
time, against business need.
● Customer oriented with professional oral and written communication skills leveraging
superior organisational skills, within a dynamic and agile working environment. Multi-lingual
a bonus!
● Standout team member who thrives in a team environment and can make decisions
independently leading the reliability vision
● Experience with incident management, including incident responder and incident
commander roles.
● Understanding and application of ITSM principles.
● Experience with IT Service Management toolsets such as ServiceNow, Jira or other.
