ROLE PURPOSE

The Planner Buyer is responsible for leading the daily planning and management of client’s communication requirements, working closely with Business Manager or Business Director to successfully run a group of clients

KEY OUTPUTS

Implementation and Media Buying

  • Take responsibility for ensuring campaigns are executed to plan including management and oversight of sub-briefing to enable considered contributions from other specialists to execute the strategy.
  • Following the approval of the media strategy, taking the lead on briefing key media partners with developed briefs and assessing and guiding their responses.
  • Negotiate with media suppliers, for best possible client outcome, checking in with your manager to ensure value is at parity across the agency.
  • Oversee the management of media contracts with suppliers, ensuring they are consistent with the approved plan
  • Use the Spark Foundry billing system (Pegasus) to enter all media billings.
  • Take ownership of any invoice queries, resolving these quickly and efficiently.

Account Management

  • Work alongside your managers to deliver impeccable account servicing.
  • Demonstrate to clients that we are not only a supplier but a valued Business partner.
  • Invest time and energy in understanding your client’s industries and be able to contribute valuably at the table, with client, media partners and internally.
  • Demonstrate exceptional client servicing skills, acknowledging client requests, managing response timelines and exceeding their expectations.
  • Have impeccable time management skills and ability to adapt to different workflow structures.
  • Grow relationships with creative agency partners to ensure media thinking is applied to creative thinking.
  • Grow relationships with mid level to Senior media partners to ensure Spark Foundry are at the forefront of the market, both in our understanding of the landscape but also in gaining first to market or beta opportunities.

Reporting and Insights

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of research tools and media platform opportunities as they develop and evolve.
  • Reporting - conceive, challenge and nuance reports to produce accurate insightful reporting for clients in language they can understand, carrying learnings into future practice. Ensure they are usable and valuable to clients.
  • Use Spark Foundry measurement tools to project the impact and performance of strategies on key audiences.

 Team Management

  • Work closely alongside specialist services workstreams to lead and help shape their contributions to ensure they deliver insight-led, strategically sound work.
  • Ensure appropriate team processes are in place to support effective campaign implementation, management and delivery. Recommend new ways where you spot opportunities to adapt processes.
