Job Description

Digital Strategy & Planning – Senior Performance Executive

 

A self-motivated and upcoming digital specialist responsible for planning high quality digital performance campaigns with a focus on results and analysis.

 

A strong collaborator and communicator, who will work with multiple teams and support the Performance Planning Director and Performance Lead in analysis, planning and strategic execution.

 

Reports to: Performance Planning Director

 

Key responsibilities

 

●        Ensuring both Always-On Commerce campaigns and additional Brand Campaigns are delivering against strategy and planned outcomes at the channel level

●        Work with Performance teams and Performance Planning to ensure delivery of plans against objectives

●        Reporting and analysis with a keen eye for detail and bringing the story to life

●        Ability to plan effective performance campaigns either with incremental budget or standard BAU

●        Liaise with internal teams to seek new opportunities for performance campaigns and contribute to innovation and testing

●        Day to day management of client, team schedules and work flows to ensure smooth operation of workstreams, and projects delivered on time

●        Ability to handle financial requests for booking, good record keeping and financial accountability

●        Ensuring all channels are applying investment within the parameters set

 

 

 

 

Making it happen

 

●        Client: You will be a key component within the digital team, and you will be expected to contribute to client meetings, offer ideas and challenges and ensure the client is focused on our overall goals.

 

●        Planning: In collaboration with other digital specialists (Strategy, Planning) and activation teams, you will ensure that plans and initiatives are matched to overall goals on a channel-by-channel basis

o    Use Digital Data to support observations and rationale

o    Ensure plans meet planning rigour and are clear and organised

o    Ability to spot learnings and communicate these to client and team

o    Ensure plans are consistent in their approaches
 

●        Activation: No real-terms activation is required but knowledge of performance media and platforms in order to contribute to discussion and understand plans is beneficial
 

●        Reviews: Must be able to review campaigns, partnerships, suppliers, digital investment channels, inventory quality & tracking measures (incl. brand safety) etc. Other teams will feed in as necessary (Investment, Technology, Data teams) with guidance from the Performance Planning Director and Performance Lead.

 

●        Collaboration: You will work closely with the Performance Planning Director and Performance Lead as well as digital investment teams to translate strategy into an overall activation plan.

o    Responsible for the day-to-day strategic output of the Activation teams, providing a day-to-day point of contact to these teams

o    Implementing best strategic response to briefs with Digital Activation teams

o    Ensuring cross-channel communications across activation teams, to ensure a joined up and consistent approach to campaign activations and service is delivered for the client

o    Overall contribution to ensure that campaigns are delivered to budget and meet campaign forecasts

o    Lead on reporting and analysis with the Performance Planning Director

 

●        Innovation: Take an interest in incorporating innovation, in collaboration with other digital specialists across all areas:

o    Proactivity in presenting media firsts and new beta products

o    New and advanced suppliers

o    New and advanced supplier products

o    New and advanced formats

o    New and advanced placements

o    New and advanced digital platforms

o    New and advanced quality and tracking controls (incl. brand safety)

 

 

What does success look like?

 

●        Strong media focused relationship with client stakeholders  

●        Positive feedback from the Performance Planning Director and Performance Lead, Planning & Activation teams. (Measure – 360 staff review)

●        High involvement within team in media campaign goals and objectives

●        Attention to detail and good organisation (assessed by line manager)

●        General high quality of work (assessed by line manager)

Qualifications

Experience required

●        1-2 years+ agency experience working in a digital role

●        Solid client experience

●        Ideally have worked on a mixture of Brand and Performance client/s

●        Good understanding of one Performance media channel (Social, Display, PPC, Affiliates, AV, SEO)

●        Good knowledge of media and tech platforms, ideally GA360, but others appreciated

●        Interest in cross-channel media and innovative solutions

●        Convincing and confident presenter: This is a client facing role and the successful candidate will be keen to get involved in the day to day and play a role in defining and delivering the digital detail to the client.
