Job Description

The Decision Science Director is a senior leader who develops innovative measurement and analytics approaches that drive the client’s business forward.  The DS Director helps lead a team dedicated to creating best-in-class consumer, media, brand, and market research and to transforming strategic insights into powerful stories.  The Director needs to provide strong perspective and ongoing analysis of specific business data as well as the broader media marketplace to identify opportunities for both the client and the agency as a whole.  He or she will interact with senior media, strategy and analytics clients leading high level strategic, data-backed discussions and providing strong action-oriented recommendations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Manage client data streams globally – connecting regional and local agency initiatives to client’s global organization

  • Serve as data director in a global hub environment for a large financial services client, consulting on research, data and media - sharing best practices across regional and local stakeholders
  • Manage client’s market mix modeling data collection for nearly 20 markets around the globe – leveraging results output to inform media strategy around the world
  • Partner with client on global rollout of data dashboarding solution across all media types

 Architect and manage innovative solutions

  • Collaborate with client research, insights, and analytics teams to gain a deep knowledge of business goals and challenges
  • Define KPIs and build frameworks that capture campaign performance, inform optimizations, and influence future plans
  • Oversee and execute learning agendas to evaluate campaign effectiveness
  • Mine client data sets for insights and application
  • Advise on management of data sources for real-time intelligence or attribution readiness
  • Forecast business results and provide media mix optimization recommendations
  • Lead media budget threshold & sufficiency planning to inform media investment

Provide data, research & analytics leadership for clients and internal stakeholders

  • Pioneer innovative approaches and test & learn streams to address complex research and measurement challenges
  • Develop POVs, vendor evaluations & landscape overviews to publish and present
  • Proactively educate internal and external clients on value of consumer insight research and facilitate audience intelligence and understanding
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate at least 3 direct reports

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in analytics, modeling, business consulting or media research
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, engineering, marketing, advertising or business, economics
  • Robust experience with quantitative research, syndicated & customer data environments, and/or market mix modeling
  • Working knowledge of dashboard software packages such as Datorama
  • Experience leading and developing growth of other team members
  • Experience in Financial Services a plus
