Job Description

The Digital & Media Strategist plays an important leadership and development role within the Digital practice and the agency. Their role is to plan and execute strategic digital and media campaigns and provide ongoing strategic counsel to their account partners to help them address their client’s short and long-term business goals. They work together with multi-functional teams on relevant assignments/activations. They should constantly develop relevant insights to help the account leads identify areas of growth/opportunity/improvement for the business. They should play a very visible role with appropriate client partners and provide support to the account director/lead.

Their core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing ongoing digital strategy, working closely with account staff to identify areas of opportunities within current initiatives and competitive actions, digital program management, hands-on campaign management in programmatic and social platforms, agency and client education, and digital campaign metric analysis and social measurement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic counsel and identify proactive opportunities for clients
  • Input on all planning and provide digital strategic point of view
  • Continually serve as a partner with account team/lead and act as sounding board for ideas
  • Responsible for budgeting (hours and hard costs) for each digital/social media campaign and develop the plan
  • Proactively identify digital marketing industry trends/potential issues and provide appropriate recommendations to account lead(s)
  • Proactively identify digital marketing trends taking place within brand communities and provide counsel potential next steps and bigger implications for client partners
  • Develop and manage media plans which include display media, social media, video, influencers, retailer media, and promotions.  
  • Plan and manage influencer campaigns
  • Provide digital/social media analysis based on measurement and tracking reports, overall campaign reporting and media receptivity
  • Campaign management and set-up in social and programmatic media platforms
  • Support execution of digital tactics, when applicable
  • Training and education of colleagues and clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical thinker

  • Entrepreneurial in spirit (ability to create from nothing)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate to clients, teammates and external business partners

SKILLS:

  • Intermediate to advanced excel (required)
  • Intermediate power-point (required)
  • Strong understanding of social media marketing, email marketing, mobile marketing, SEO, SEM, eCommerce
  • Experience with display media campaign management and optimization

EXPERIENCE (Required / Preferred)

  • Three to five years of full-time experience in digital marketing or advertising (digital experience required) – Retail Media experience is a plus.
  • Superior communication skills, both internal and client-facing
  • Strong relationship management, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and business groups, including Creative, Media and Technical Delivery Specialists
  • Ability to identify opportunities for growth and incremental opportunities with client partners
  • Strong interest in technology or digital marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
