Job Description

The Role

The Associate Account Director reports to the Client Partner and is responsible for contributing to the achievement of business plan objectives by the effective management of the provision of quality communication strategies to clients. The Associate Account Director is expected to determine what is presented to clients, whether research is required, and the delegation of tasks to team members. The Associate Account Director is expected to add value to the Clients’ activities and so build the Agency’s business with that Client. The role requires to take a middle ground and the best interests of both the client and the agency.

Job Purpose

  • Maintain regular contact with clients
  • Lead effective meetings
  • Thorough knowledge of client’s business, competitors and market
  • Opportunities for incremental revenue increases identified and developed
  • Development of all major and new campaign briefs
  • Recommend appropriate research as required
  • Brief Creative on campaigns
  • Prepare strategies for selling creative work to clients ensuring creative is on strategy and within budget
  • Media consulted on strategies as required
  • Work conforms with corporate brand identity guidelines and media specifications
  • Creative work confirms with advertising codes, legal and ethical standards
  • Preparation and monitoring of annual financial plan
  • Working knowledge of client contracts
  • Sign-off on relevant financial related documentation (ISRs, POs, production estimates etc)
  • Provide clients with accurate monthly budget/actual reconciliation/s for media/ production
  • Preparation of accurate monthly client billing forecasts
  • Record and maintain detailed head-hours on all tasks
  • Work trafficked in an effective manner
  • Team members adhere to established processes and procedures
  • All appropriate signoffs obtained
  • Team members have a clear understanding of job requirements
  • Performance Agreements in place and reviews conducted on time

  • Projects completed on time and within budget
  • Relevant sign-off in place before work commences
  • Performance reviews conducted on time
  • Weekly team meetings
