Job Description

An Associate Director, Strategy at Publicis Imagine is equal parts strategic thinker, manager, problem solver, project planning, trusted advisor, team leader, collaborator, and cat herder. You’ll be helping to lead US-based Strategy teams and clients to deliver strategic solutions. You watch timelines, dependencies, and risks very closely. You’re relentless about quality and also know how to suggest trade-offs to achieve client drivers (time, scope, quality, risks). You set the lead by example when setting up projects and programs, as well as “best-in-class,” and data-informed strategic work – creating positive team environments. You are great at building relationships and driving team collaboration. You ensure that your teams foster individual development and set a high bar for performance standards. You’re comfortable with working with minimal supervision as much as you are collaborating with experts on our internal Planning, Investment, Data & Tech, and other Publicis Imagine teams, here in the US and Internationally

You love the details, get excited about planning weeks/months ahead, and think about risks that may get in your way. You transition seamlessly between the nitty-gritty details and the big picture. You’re an expert at juggling multiple projects at a time and prioritizing across them as needed. You love problem-solving. You know how businesses work. You get excited about learning the nuances of each client and you bring been there / done that / outside perspectives wherever possible. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’ve mastered the ability to build crisp and concise PowerPoint slides around a story arc. And, you’re a wiz at adapting your message depending on your audience. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to adapt your approach when working with people from different disciplines (technology, creative, data, strategy, and marketing engagement) You’re comfortable whether you’re working in a Publicis Imagine office, on a client site or remotely.

● You’ll be helping to guide US-based teams and clients, while periodically working with International teams to deliver business strategies & solutions

● Generate strategic media initiatives and lead the implementation of the media plans for a major client

● Lead on key campaigns, contributing to the development of media strategy, leaning into the development of tactical planning and reporting

● Presenting recommendations to clients

● Evaluating a wide range of media channels to determine which would most effectively align with key KPIs

● Evaluating, identifying and sizing opportunities based on client brief

● Responsible for managing projects and resources for areas of specialization, both media specialization and client business specialization

● Client-facing role, leading weekly statues and presentations

● Build and maintain a strong relationship with key clients

● Collaborating across multiple teams to drive business growth for the account, i.e

● Participate in internal Enterprise and strategy meetings to keep management aware of projects

● Working with investment teams on first-to-market or innovations

● Drive learnings and insights with Data & Tech

● Reports directly to VP

● Following detailed instructions and using established procedures, completes work in a detailed and complete manner

● Performs under immediate supervision, using established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks

● Supervising, training and developing skills of Assistants, Planners and Supervisors by managing workload, delegating responsibilities and checking work for accuracy

● Provide job performance feedback to subordinates and make recommendations to management

● Assists in more advanced functions as part of training and development

● Resource for others in resolution of complex problems/issues

● Significant responsibility for day to day monitoring of Business Unit spending and Client Accounting

● Oversee budget accuracy across critical documents

● Align budget with annual commitments

● Participate in weekly budget calls

● Limited Accountability for overall unit budget

● Works closely with Global Operations team to implement processes for budget management

● Meet client and internal deadlines and obligations 

 

Qualifications

● Minimal supervision needed, relies on experience/ judgment

● Excellent management and motivational skills

● Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and quantitative/analytical skills

● Strong client presentation skills and business writing skills

● Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning

● Detail-oriented and proven ability to thrive in a fast paced environment

● 5+ years strategy development experience including 3 years in a management capacity

● Offline and Online media experience

● Must have a strong working knowledge of National and Local Media

● Computer Skills/Software Knowledge: MediaTools, Microsoft Suite, Nielsen, Kantar Software, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, Comscore, & GWI

● Exceptional written and verbal skills, with ability to present to clients, maintain client correspondence and internal documentation

● Demonstrate ability to learn new propriety software and processes quickly and proficiently

● Understanding of Planning , Investment and Data & Tech team functions

● Understand the strengths and weaknesses of each media type

● Knows industry trends and emerging media

● Demonstrated ability to craft and define a strategic business solution based on broad client goals

● Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience
