Saatchi & Saatchi Canada is a full-service advertising agency in Toronto seeking an Analyst to join the Strategic Planning team on a tier 1 automotive account.   We’re looking for someone who is analytically savvy, loves using information to tell stories, and has a passion for marketing communications.  The Strategic Planning Analyst will report directly to the Vice President, Director of Strategic Planning.

Job Description

The Analyst will work with the Strategic-Planning team, Account team, Media/Digital Team, Clients and Research vendors to advance understanding of the automotive industry and help generate consumer/market/brand insights that inform smart, inspired brand strategies and go-to-market approaches.  Plus, the analyst will be a driving force in program-performance evaluation & optimization, as well as contribute to organizational best-practice initiatives. 

The analyst will have involvement in both Masterbrand and Vehicle-Nameplate facets of the business, in both internal and client-facing roles, as well as work closely with the Retail, Experiential, CRM and Corporate-Reputation agencies.  They will also maintain relationships with research partners.     

RESPONSIBILITIES

The analyst will have primary responsibility for the sourcing, generation, analysis and reporting of quant./qual. information on key projects and on-going initiatives, as well as participate in the critical-thinking process of strategic development.

  • Buyer Profiling
  • Competitive Reviews
  • Ad Tracking Evaluation
  • Website Behavioural Analytics
  • Social Listening
  • On-Going Metrics and Dashboards
  • Special Investigations
  • Ad-Hoc Internal and External Requests
  • Input to Research Direction (Quant and Qual)
  • Social Trends
  • Input to Annual Connections-Planning & Social Content
  • Understanding of Canadian and International Mobility Markets
  • Suggest and Initiate New Insight Sources
  • Explore Fresh Ideas/Tools/Suppliers to Help Advance Agency Competencies

Qualifications

This is an intermediate level role, for someone with 3+ years of experience in the industry The analyst should be strong analytically using both quantitative and qualitative inputs, with an ability to translate data into key observations & take-aways, with a conceptual storytelling ability and comfort in presenting their thinking.   They should be interested and proficient in data manipulation software, particularly Excel.  The ability to work independently, as well as in collaborative work-sessions, is essential. 

Ideally, the analyst will have existing familiarity with Canadian automotive studies and cross-tab programs, but this is not mandatory.   Familiarity with Polk, Nielsen, Maritz NVCS and Vividata is a strong asset.  Experience with Canadian social trends, Stats-Can, target-segmentation, brand-health, ad-tracking & social-listening tools is valuable.
