Our Principal Software Engineer (PSE) is responsible for designing and writing code, performing code reviews, developing technical documentation and is a key contributor in their team and project. A PSE acts as a technical leader in projects, ensuring that the team maintains high levels of performance, and builds and strengthens the relationship with the client.

This position starts the transition into a technical leadership role and moves away from an individual contributor role. The PSE is in charge of presentations to clients, facilitating collaboration with other groups such as Creative, Business and Technology throughout all phases of a project’s lifecycle. The PSE should aim to become a subject matter expert in back-end technologies.

The individual in this position is expected to make design and architectural decisions in projects due to their high-level understanding of back-end technologies. The PSE will work with back-end technology Java. The PSE is an experienced developer of content management systems and e-commerce platforms.

• BS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Between 6 and 8 years’ software development experience (including leadership experience)
• Proficiency designing and developing rich web applications using various technologies such as Java
• Proficiency with data storage patterns and practices, namely relational (SQL) and/or non-relational (NoSQL) platforms
• Work experience deploying and troubleshooting the following tools:
• Process Automation & Scripting (eg. Grunt, Maven, Ant, Powershell)
• Continuous Integration (eg. Hudson, Jenkins, Teamcity, CruiseControl)
• Proficiency in integrating web solutions with web services and third-party platforms
• Proven track record as a technical team leader
• English level B2 or higher
