Job Description

The digital strategy manager will touch many aspects of the agency response to client, as well as gain managerial experience via the team executive.

In addition to the core planning and strategy team that this role sits within, the digital strategy team also work closely with the search, social, and programmatic teams to deliver for the client.

Building strategy documents (nice to have)

Working with the planning and creative team to help develop the digital strategic direction for brands within the McCormick portfolio. This includes budget allocation, timings, platform use, audience targeting, use of innovation, working with the KPIs and success measurement.

Setting campaigns live (must have)

Working with the digital strategy team exec to set campaigns live with the search, social, and programmatic activation teams, as well as direct with digital media partners. This includes ensuring activity is booked, properly set up within platform, and troubleshooting any launch incidents. In addition, to work with the creative teams to ensure that creative is delivered on time and in the right format.

Ongoing campaign maintenance (must have)

Working with vendors and internal activation teams to optimise campaign performance and provide weekly reporting calls to clients.

Innovation and transformation (nice to have)

The applicant should have a track record of delivering innovation to clients. This is either via a 70/20/10 approach to innovation, or from the likes of an innovation roadmap. Innovation can mean a lot of things - knowledge of emerging technologies like voice, chatbots etc, or simply helping clients test new opportunities such as a use of data or a new creative unit.

Communication (must have)

Communication skills are a must for this role. This is a crucial role within our team and is the conduit between digital strategy, activation, and planning. The digital strategy manager also interfaces with clients on a daily basis.

Ad-hoc digital requests (nice to have)

Dealing with client requests such as; sourcing internal information on campaign performance history, assisting with innovation projects, budgeting etc.

Qualifications

Entrepreneurial: Someone who is a self-starter, likes to develop a process and to create fresh approach for clients and their team.

Thoughtful: Takes the time to properly digest a brief and direction and to build their own perspective into any response.

Wanting to learn: We want people that are hungry to improve themselves professionally through self-education and questioning what they do not know

Able to challenge: Has the space and is encouraged to questions and disagree internally (with all levels of the team) and with clients where appropriate

Happy to be challenged – not to be proud or unable to take constructive criticism of own work.
