Job Description

This position sits within the Publicis Commerce Practice whose role is to help brands provide incredible consumer experiences that drive genuine commercial growth. 

There is significant focus within Publicis Groupe to develop a strong commerce proposition which we can take to our existing and prospective clients. There are pockets of expertise with the Groupe and the challenge is working through what combination of resource is required to deliver on specific client briefs and building a comprehensive offering that we can take to market.

This is why we launched the Commerce Practice to the market in March 2018, to serve as a branded wrapper to deliver the strongest commerce assets in each market, ensuring the right level of global consistency. 

The Role

This role has been created to support one of our key clients undergoing rapid business transformation in their quest to maximise the Commerce opportunity in the FMCG grocery space and will instrumental in driving change and delivering against an ambitious roadmap.

You will be involved in developing commerce strategies and liaising with activation teams, retailers and third parties to specifically grow sales through grocery retailers and owned direct-to-consumer (DTC) platforms, leveraging tactics such as digital shelf optimisation, the fast evolving retail media landscape and exploring innovative partnerships with third parties or retailers directly. This is a fluid role which would equally suit retail, grocery and FMCG professionals as much as anybody with an agency or performance marketing background.

It is an incredibly exciting time to work in the FMCG and grocery verticals as consumers and retailers alike rapidly adopt digital and this role will be very much involved in exploring new opportunities and partners as they emerge, alongside ensuring local market teams have the tools, guidance and support to execute growth initiatives and activations in the current quarter.

Key responsibilities, working alongside the Commerce Director:

  • Feeding into and socialising the annual Commerce strategy with associated roadmap of deliverables across multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally throughout central and local client teams.

  • Support with set up, execution and ongoing management of commerce growth initiatives (eRetail proposition, Omnichannel Commerce, DTC and Data/Measurement)

  • Supporting the creation and ongoing management of a test and learn roadmap (including pilots), working with stakeholders to assess proposals and weight them accordingly in the backlog. Sharpening up test proposals and sharing with local markets for them adapt and run, supporting the roll-out where necessary.

  • Feeding into centrally-produced guidelines and playbooks on best practice and presenting to stakeholders across the client organisation and market teams.

  • Ownership of day-to-day management with local markets and driving consistency in approaches throughout.

  • Liaising with activation teams, retailers and partners and centralising case studies and learnings to share with stakeholders.

     

     

Qualifications

Experience:

Previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment, working to tight deadlines, and handling many different tasks is ideal. The person that fills this role needs to be positive, proactive and a shining example of the kind of great talent we need to fill the team with.

- 3+ years’ experience of broad digital or performance marketing for a brand, retailer, media platform or agency - Retail-side E-Commerce experience is a plus but not essential
- Strong logical thinking and outstanding project management skills
- Confident at presenting, and clear communication skills
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
