Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a bright, dynamic and driven Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. You will particularly enjoy process improving, problem solving and adding value.

This is a varied role with great scope for development and progression. You will have the opportunity to gain rounded experience, as you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function to assisting in month end reporting.

You will be responsible for managing the time recording process for SB and you will work closely with your team to maintain tight controls over revenue and WIP management.

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant:

Accounts Payable

  • Managing Salter Baxter Accounts Payable function
  • Reviewing expense claims and ensuring they meet company guidelines.
  • Creating Jobs on Altair.
  • Raising PO’s when required.
  • Sending Intercompany Statements and reviewing any discrepancies
  • Assist in general AP month end closing and ad hoc duties

Time Management

  • Managing the time recognition process for accurate reporting
  • Setting up and reviewing Employee SAP Access
  • Inputting weekly Studio Timesheets onto SAP and chasing missing time.

Month End & Reporting:

  • Assist in preparing month end accounts for management review by deadline, including posting Accruals and Prepayment journals.
  • Preparing and reporting Weekly WIP and job servicing reports for Salter Baxter
  • Preparing and reporting accurate utilization reports for Salter Baxter

Revenue & WIP Management:

  • Invoicing/Job management - Full responsibility for your client’s revenue (approx. 10 invoices per month), WIP (costs) and Intercompany billing. Ensure all instructions are received and invoices are finalised according to month end timetable.
  • Business partnering - Monthly meetings with the Salter Baxter Client Leads and Project Managers to review their project financials.
  • Financial controls - Understand and monitor the balances of Accrued & Deferred Revenue and WIP. Proactively reduce these balances and escalate issues to the Financial Accountant.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • ACCA/CIMA Studier or equivalent ( Study support will be provided upon passing probation)
  • Excellent Excel skills preferred (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, SUMIFS)
