Job Description

Overview: 
The Associate Director is responsible for executing strategies, including negotiating scatter needs, analyzing the need for AD weight, and implementing allocation and billing tools to facilitate smooth transition from buy to air.  The Associate Director is also responsible for the development of media strategies and effectively communicating these strategies to clients. Also critical for this position is the development and management of a team of Video Associates, forging relationships with media partners, and applying these relationships to gain a deeper knowledge of the marketplace.

Role Objectives:

  • Have ownership of accounts and build strong working relationships with our clients
  • Manage and mentor other team members
  • Arrange and run client and team meetings while helping to build cross-agency rapport
  • Negotiate total video purchases, inclusive of digital OLV
  • Oversee the development and presentation of media POVs for client
  • Present corporate ownership issues to clients
  • Develop marketplace analyses
  • Troubleshoot billing and allocation problems
  • Negotiate cable purchases
  • Create recommendation documents
  • Oversee brand allocations and corporate ownership
  • Oversee billing discrepancies
  • Review/assist in post-buy analysis
  • Analyze ADU packages

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of experience in media, national broadcast preferred; online video is a plus
  • Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical proficiency, particularly with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work successfully with teams, handle multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • Demonstrates leadership skills
  • Stronger than average negotiation skills due to high volume of scatter
  • Account industry knowledge helpful, but not required
