Job Description

Digitas Health is looking for a Director of User Experience. The UX Director will work closely with client and agency team members to intimately understand business and user needs, develop, and document a user experience strategy, and advocate for user needs throughout the project development cycle. The UX Director will engage in user research, analysis, planning, and design, and mentor junior UX Designers in the daily execution of project-related activities.


The ideal candidate will be resourceful and flexible, with exceptional teamwork skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment: someone who can meet the challenges of working in pharma head-on, and take to heart our mantra of “helping, not selling.”


Responsibilities:

  • Form a clear and insightful understanding of our clients’ business, their needs, and the creative opportunities and challenges that exist in their categories
  • Oversee and create user journeys, scenarios, personas, etc.
  • Plan for and facilitate brainstorming sessions
  • Develop and guide the creation of information architecture deliverables (site maps, taxonomies, flow diagrams)
  • High level sketching, concepting, and storyboarding
  • Design and oversee the creation of wireframes, low and high-fidelity prototypes for websites, apps, social media, and more
  • Guide the creation and management of design systems
  • Advise on accessibility and usability best practices
  • Partner closely with other capabilities (copy, design, development, etc.)
  • Mentor and manage the career development of junior team members
  • Inform project scoping and UX team allocations

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles and research methods
  • Great communication skills – able to present work and findings to internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors
  • Expertise in atomic design principles and WCAG 2.1 AA standards for accessibility
  • Perpetually driven to sharpen and broaden skills, aiming always for greatness
  • Ability and passion to solve problems collaboratively with a small team, but also able to execute independently and make strong recommendations
  • Ability to recognize strong ideas and see them through to completion
  • Ability to sell ideas to other members of the creative team and to clients
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Discerning attention to detail with excellent critical thinking, logic, and analytical skills 
  • Balances and appreciates both the qualitative and quantitative sides of user experience
  • Ability to see other points of view and diplomatically hash out the pros and cons of any approach

Requirements:

  • Four-year degree
  • 6 or more years as a practicing UX professional
  • Portfolio of high quality UX deliverables (presentations, site maps, wireframes, etc.)
  • Expertise in using software such as Sketch or other tools to create site maps, wireframes, user flows, and prototypes

 

 Desired:

·         Some agencies experience desired

·         Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industry experience a plus
