Job Description

Creative Directors, UX at Razorfish are responsible for leading teams to develop and produce creative solutions that meet our clients’ business objectives and goals.   

 You will play a key leadership role working with Account, Marketing Strategy, Media, Technology and Business Development to shape new opportunities for Razorfish — be it expanding current client relationships or forging new ones.  

 You bring a deep understanding of translating business needs and strategy into realized design. You provide a perspective that influences both clients and your team to also understand the rationale and approach to what is design and why.   

 You bring a deep understanding of user-centered design, content strategy, copywriting, design, front-end development, brand strategy and multi-channel marketing strategy with core strengths and experience in Information Architecture and interaction design across digital channels.   

Key Responsibilities  

  • Lead and inspire creative teams to design experiences and deliver great work for our clients  
  • Contribute and collaborate with our North America creative leads to shape and evolve our experience practice   
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders, collaborate with strategy and business development teams to pursue and develop new business opportunities  
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to craft solutions for clients through conceptual designs rooted in strategy and rationale derived from key business and user needs  
  • Design best in class experiences for clients by balancing user and business needs to identify opportunities based on research, analytics and best practices  
  • Work with strategic and analytics partners to develop a shared understanding of business and user needs through scenarios and journeys  
  • Define creative process tailored to the specific needs of a project, oversee development of UX artifacts such as organizational models, journeys, sitemaps, taxonomy, navigation, wireframes, flows and prototypes with the ability to present and sell through to senior client stakeholders  
  • Drive the development of frameworks that describe key aspects of a proposed experience, and how it reconciles business and user needs; execute top-level deliverables based on user-centered design techniques  
  • Work with delivery teams to estimate, plan, and build successful creative for large and complex projects  
  • Collaborate with leadership and hiring to attract, recruit and retain creative talent to grow our creative capabilities  
  • Enhance the Razorfish brand by driving award submissions and speaking engagements  
  • Drive all creative aspects of sales pursuits, including: shaping and responding to opportunities, proposal creation, and orals presentations  
  • Define best practices and standards related to persona development/behavioral segmentation; coach teams to align personas/segmentation with client/project objectives  
  • and ensure that they are derived appropriately from behavioral segments/user profiles; ensure that scenarios respond to key user needs and illustrate key business opportunities  
  • Work with strategic partners to develop understanding of business and user needs through scenarios and journeys  

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of industry experience in a well-established, design/creative role with a proven track record of success, agency experience a plus.
  • Mastery of interaction design, information architecture, and user-centered design across channels, devices, and mediums, coupled with the ability to balance and translate business and user needs into opportunities shown through concepts  
  • A strong grasp of product and brand strategy, and analytics, coupled with the ability to identify business opportunities, audience/customer studies and segmentations  
  • The ability to drive and contribute to the end-to-end product and platform R&D lifecycle, working with a multi-disciplinary team spanning Razorfish talent, agency and client partners  
  • Solid verbal communication and writing skills, with experience presenting to all levels of clients and co-workers  
  • Knowledge of marketing and design systems, and experiences, with proven conceptual and design abilities  
  • Candidates must be well-versed in user-centered design methods and techniques  
  • A solid understanding of related creative tracks such as visual design, interactive development, copywriting, content strategy and SEO  
  • Must have been in a client-facing role and have project experience in working with teams on large scale, long-term projects  
  • Ability to gracefully handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with the adaptability to navigate unknowns and bring clarity and consensus to key clients and stakeholders  
  • Empower growth in others through empathy, servant leadership, and the ability to understand a on a personal level someone’s drive, ambitions and how to get the best from them.  
  • Drive preparation of large client workshops to communicate key themes from stakeholder interviews; work with the team to achieve alignment on key success factors  
  • Lead, oversee, and provide thought leadership in participatory design/user testing sessions, as well as behavioral in-context and ethnographic research events across accounts; manage client involvement in research  
  • Proficient to expert in industry design and prototyping tools
