Job Description

You will be joining a close-knit studio made up of multi-skilled designers, passionate about all things sustainability. We're looking for an exceptional Mid-Weight designer and a creative thinker who can translate, sometimes, complex sustainability strategy into compelling, tangible communications. The role requires a conceptual thinker with excellent design skills and aesthetics (this is a given) and the ability to oversee and execute across a range of applications whilst leading more junior members of the team. You will be designing across a wide variety of projects and activities, including digital, campaigns, reporting and literature, content creation, branding and identity systems, experiential — from brief stage right through to delivery. Your work should be more than just great design and should affect business change with great results.

Quality of work

  • Aesthetics and craft of work should never be in question at this level — a primary focus will be quality and clarity of thinking and ability to articulate this to the client in a compelling way.
  • Using your own time very well and that of other designers and resources effectively, ensuring that creative thinking is checked with the Creative Directors and Consultants before work is undertaken
  • by others.
  • Leading others in terms of the brand idea creation and direction, taking responsibility for projects you own creatively and ensuring delivery on the end deliverables.

Working with clients

  • You have excellent client relationship skills — dealing with clients at a senior level, leading creative presentations in a clear, compelling and inspiring way, demonstrating articulate presentation skills.
  • You take the time to really understand a client's business and translate their complex, communications challenges in to compelling design-led solutions.
  • You will play a role in helping to grow and win business with key accounts and clients.

Efficiency and effectiveness

  • You are commercially aware and can deliver multi-faceted projects within allocated budget and timelines — never missing a deadline.
  • You will work closely with account management teams and the studio manager to ensure that resource allocation is sufficient.
  • You are focused and work extremely efficiently and effectively to ensure that there is no overspend in terms of time and you are constantly checking project status alongside project scope to deliver successfully and profitably.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have; strong experience within communications, supported by an exceptionally high standard of conceptual thinking and strategic understanding.

  • You have excellent experience in conceptual, design-led brand communications both internal and external for a wide variety of clients (B2B and B2C).
  • You are currently a seasoned, experienced designer with solid experience.
  • A background in sustainability would be beneficial.
  • You are looking for the next step-up — to be challenged and energized by increased responsibility and the autonomy to shape your new role.
  • Having an interest in the outside creative world is vital ad you have a keen interest in sustainability so you will be naturally curious and proactive in keeping up-to-date with creative and sustainability developments and share your learnings with the wider team.
  • Expert in Creative Suite
  • Very good digital and social media knowledge
