Job Description

The Lead Data Scientist is responsible for overseeing the organization and collection of large datasets from all kinds of different sources, (web APIs, internal databases), performing exploratory data analyses, using statistical and econometric techniques on datasets, identifying the best techniques to identify causal impact and attribution, and developing, implementing, and deploying different modeling projects as required by the agency clients.

What You'll Do:

  • Guide and manage junior members of the team in performing extraction of data sets from multiple marketing/database platforms and perform hygiene and quality control steps.  
  • Provide thought leadership in new marketing analytics methodologies, techniques, tools & technologies
  • Scope, price and staff analytical engagements
  • Oversee analysts/senior analysts as they derive and write clearly articulated key findings and observations from analyzing various data sources
  • Manage various external vendors including online services firms, content management, advanced modeling, research firms, or other services firms such as media, social, PR, direct mail, telemarketing, events marketing firms
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and the evolving analytics landscape
  • Keep up-to-date with latest technology trends
  • Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers
  • Implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis
  • Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design
  • Work with senior/junior team members to gather/clear data, prepare features for AI models, train/deploy models locally and the cloud, and build/deploy web apps locally and the cloud

What You’ll Do:   

  • Consult on and/or lead projects that encompass direct interaction with internal business clients and peers at external clients
  • Identify opportunities to use statistics and machine learning to create advanced analytics and value-added insights in a documented and repeatable process
  • Identify new opportunities to leverage data assets
  • Develop and deliver high-impact tools and insights comprised of aggregated data sets and advanced algorithms with a clean user experience
  • Drive the collection and manipulation of new data and the refinement of existing data sources
  • Have leeway to work in areas such as Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, Regression and classification modeling
  • Apply time series analysis expertise to relevant challenges

Qualifications

Who You Are:   

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics; Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or related field preferred
  • You have 5-7 years of work experience in marketing analytics or related field such as advertising, direct marketing, online marketing, loyalty marketing, using data to solve complex Marketing problems
  • You have working knowledge of marketing/advertising/research principles
  • You have 4+ years of practical experience in data processing, database programming and data analytics using programming languages such as R, Python, Java, SQL, etc.
  • You have an extensive background in data mining and statistical analysis
  • You are able to understand various data structures and implement common methods in data transformation
  • You have an excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills.
  • You have experience with NLP libraries: Spacy/SparkNLP
  • You have experience with Computer Vision
  • You have experience with Deep Neural Networks & TensorFlow
  • You are experienced with BigQuery, Google AppEngine, DataProc, Docker & Kubernetes
  • You have experience training/deploying/maintaining AI models.
