Job Description

Seeking a talented, creative-minded Strategy Director to guide the overall strategy for a range of brands. They will be responsible for the strategic direction of the campaign across channels and for ensuring those strategies help drive business-driving transformation. They will work closely with the client lead, the account team, the media team, and the data and analytics teams to inform strategies, and partner with and be an advocate for the creatives to ensure we have strategies and briefs that inspire their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day lead across a number of brands, and a champion for great creative work
  • A cross-functional thinker who can lead and inspire across disciplines and departments
  • Develop inspirational briefings and single-minded briefs that result in extraordinary creative and breakthrough ideas
  • Mine research and insights to feed development of brand platforms and campaigns
  • Distill audience, cultural, and contextual analysis to lead to new brand opportunities
  • Facilitate planning and ideation work-sessions at the agency and with clients
  • Partner with client insight teams for qual research, copy testing methodologies, brand tracking, and media market analysis
  • Fluent in secondary and syndicated research (e.g., comScore, Simmons, MRI, Forrester, eMarketer, Mintel, etc) and proficient in observation tools (i.e., online media brand studies, digital ethnography, and customer journey studies.)
  • Partner with media and commerce teams for comms planning, particularly across larger digital ecosystems

Qualifications

  • Collaborative nature, team-player, no ego, and able to partner with other strategy disciplines, creative, and account teams in the spirit of producing great work
  • Command a room with an energetic, engaging and inspirational presentation style, particularly with senior agency and client staff
  • Excellent writer and vivid presentation creator
  • Strong agency planning pedigree (e.g., top agency shop, samples of work and briefs appreciated)
  • Autonomous, fearless, and proactively identify challenges and offer solutions
  • A natural problem solver who can identify the missing piece and way forward
  • 9-12 years of agency experience developing insights, distilling cultural trends, and driving big ideas
  • Experience in CPG a plus
  • May require some overnight travel
