Job Description

The Chief Intelligence Officer will oversee the Data Science practice, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a trusted advisor across all Rauxa clients. 

As a member of the Executive team, this role will work in conjunction with agency leaders to define, monetize and grow the data strategy service offering, contributing to organic account growth and new business development. It will identify and inspire talent to deliver high-quality strategic recommendations, including analytics frameworks, test-and-learn programs, data-driven campaign optimization, and applications of data science to the process of campaign development.

What You’ll Do:   

Thought Leadership

  • Establish Rauxa as a forward-thinking and innovative partner – improving the way clients act on data to achieve business objectives
  • Outline vision, roadmap and timeline for Data Science practice, including how we speak about capabilities with current clients and new business prospects, plus tools/questions that agency team members can use to uncover additional opportunities and revenue streams
  • Interface with senior agency managers from Account, Strategy, Media and Creative to: 
    • Proactively assess client business challenges, innovative solutions or growth opportunities
    • Centralize awareness of high-profile topics and share critical knowledge across agency teams
    • Ensure collaborative and consistent approach to agency’s recommendations and solutions development
  • Continually engage clients and maintain a deep understanding of their needs and concerns in order to consistently exceed expectations and strengthen relationships
  • Define comprehensive measurement and advanced analytics strategies for clients, inclusive of comprehensive reporting and dashboards with an objective to evaluate marketing performance, drive valuable insights, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Regularly contribute to new business strategy and pitch presentations

Expand Capabilities 

  • Evaluate current data service offering and programs delivered to clients with goals of refining processes, increasing sophistication and level of engagement, introducing learning agendas, experimental designs, quantitative models and statistical analysis techniques
  • Based on needs discovery: enhance, expand and articulate Rauxa’s data service offering through internal consultation, services definition and delivery, and resource building, including external strategic partners
  • Support the continuous evolution of Rauxa Data Science capabilities, methodologies and processes by: 
    • Sharing knowledge and expertise across the agency
    • Aiding in the development of innovative proprietary solutions
    • Evolving and standardizing conceptual and analytical frameworks and approaches
  • Screen and evaluate emerging vendor technologies in the pursuit of advanced capabilities; Supervise and maintain the deployment of existing tools and methodologies 
  • Deliver business cases for new marketing programs and/or initiatives

Team Management

  • Manage direct and indirect reports to deliver best-in-class solutions and ensure the successful execution of all project work
  • Lead team projects and workflows and offer guidance on day-to-day project management and task execution
  • Proactively coach and mentor direct reports, as part of an ongoing process that fosters career growth and elevates learning and skills development
  • Recommend ongoing staffing needs for the client engagement, oversee project scopes for cross-sell, upsell and new business opportunities and support group efforts to attract, develop, retain and mentor top performers

Qualifications

Who You Are:   

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent work experience preferred; master’s degree preferred
  • You have 10 or more of combined data-driven marketing experience in management consulting or agency environment (Marketing agency experience is strongly preferred)
  • You have 5 or more years of combined digital, direct marketing, and cross-channel marketing experience in management consulting or agency environment
  • You have direct mail and email marketing data strategy experience
  • You have deep experience in concepting, designing, and delivering multichannel marketing programs with emphasis on offline/online integration
  • You have thorough knowledge and applied experience with cross-channel marketing strategy and analytics
  • You have experience in data mining, quantitative analytics and experience in interpreting and presenting derived insights
  • You have an advanced understanding of integrated direct marketing principles
  • You have the ability to synthesize information from various sources and extract key insights and develop go forward recommendations
  • You have the ability to work in a flexible, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
  • You have the ability to grow, manage and mentor a team of data strategists, analysts, and campaign operations managers across offices
  • You have excellent communication skills including ability to present insights and recommendations
  • You are highly creative with first-rate conceptual, visual and writing skills
  • You have demonstrated client management skills and service orientation
  • You have advanced skills in analytics and industry research
  • You must be able to collaboratively solve problems and deal with conflict
  • You are familiar with statistical modeling, direct/digital marketing test designs, and audience segmentation.
