Job Description
The Manager, Investments runs the day-to-day Investment operations of the Pod. The Manager is able to execute all elements of the Investment process with limited supervision. They will also work up by supporting Associate Directors with senior level Investment projects.
The goal for the role is to lead the execution of media buys while continuing to learn and become an expert in the basic Investment Management principles
Key Responsibilities
Knowledge
Clear understanding of media buying process
Exposure to both online and offline media
Follows the news and comprehends the overall media marketplace and partner landscape
Understanding of media, technical, and analytical concepts
Well versed in Media Ocean and Microsoft Office: Power Point, Excel and Word
Internal: Investment Management
Contributes thoughtfully to the planning process
Leads negotiations with media partners
Guides the training and implementation of investment processes for Associates
Leads trending and forecasting of client media dollars
Monitors partner agreements and T+Cs for accuracy and consistency
Develops an expertise in Investment tools (Investment Management Tool, Mediatools, Authorize, etc…)
“Owns” the daily work on assigned brands
Ability to manage & prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Understands existing deals and partnerships in place with PHM and PMX
Independently develops media re-investment recommendations and POVs
Begins to independently lead the execution and monitoring of approved media plans
Accountable for on-budget campaigns and quality assurance of all ad placements
Develops relationships with key media partners
Begins to proactively identify/resolve/escalate campaign execution issues in a timely manner
Collaborates across capabilities and teams
Active participant in meetings
Communicates consistently with teams on status of projects
Begins to proactively solve problems and improve processes and efficiencies
Takes initiative and shows accountability for oneself and team’s work
Managing and Leading Others
Contributes to the training and time/project management of Associates

Client Relationship
- Begins to develop rapport and working relationships with key day-to-day client/partner contacts as necessary
Assists in remedying any misunderstanding or confusion for the client/partner
Understands client needs and how PHM can add value
Helps to establish project priorities, time lines, and roles and responsibilities
Qualifications
Requirements
2-4 years advertising media experience
Pharmaceutical industry a plus
BA/BS
Exhibits professionalism, integrity, self-awareness, and an attitude of continuous improvement
Ability to multi-task, manage one’s time, and demonstrate personal organization to meet deadlines
Ability to take initial direction, then transition to a more independent work style
Proven ability to lead people and projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), media systems and tools
Notable Milestones:
Proficiency in deeper suite of investment systems/tools
Managing a direct report
