Company Description

Starcom is the Human Experience Company; we believe that our clients’ competitive advantage lies in understanding people better, and acting on that understanding faster than the competition.

The future lies in bringing together media, creativity and data to create powerful experiences that will drive faster growth. We are the flagship Publicis Media agency to do this through our Power of One client teams that span clients such as Stellantis, P&G, Samsung, P&O and Visa.

We work differently to most agencies and base many of our models on consultancy ways of working to build a more agile workforce in this hybrid world. We complement our account teams with Squads – small teams that work for a short period to solve a specific brief. We hold cross discipline Sprints to crack client briefs at speed. These processes are designed to fuel high performance and fast results through collaboration.

Even in this most challenging period, Starcom has had an exceptional 12 months. We have welcomed brilliant clients such as Stellantis, Ferrero, Axa, KP Snacks and E.ON into the fold. Our client satisfaction scores are among the highest in the market, significantly above agency norms. We place a huge focus on our team and have driven flagship D&I and L&D programmes within Publicis Media; our goal is to help every individual reach their fullest potential and we encourage everyone to make “Brave Plays” in how they approach their work and their own career development. As a result, we have an exceptionally energised and committed talent base, all of us proud of our welcoming and supportive culture, as evidenced by our recognition as one of Campaign’s Best Places to Work in 2021.

Starcom operates in over 100 markets across the world. We have very close ties to our global HQ in Chicago who encourage learning and sharing best practice with our colleagues around the world. We are part of Publicis Groupe.

Job Description

The Role

This AD role is working on the Republic of Ireland side of the UK&I account. The position sits as part of the wider Visa team who are one of the most successful teams in the agency, you will be working on a top 10 global brand with the backing of a brave client who invests in great ideas and quality media planning. We have had the Visa IE business for over 4 years so you will feel the benefit of coming into a strong and settled client relationship.

One thing to address head on – Visa is not a credit card and nor should it be seen as a finance client. In reality our work with Visa is brand and purpose focused – rooted in ensuring Visa are an inclusive brand who campaign for change. This ensures the briefs are varied and exciting, ranging from supporting independent business to amplifying global sports sponsorships (Women’s UEFA & Olympics) as well as driving behaviour change in eComm to working with some of the UK’s most innovative fintech brands. The variety of briefs and range of associated objectives means this brand provides a challenge for any planner. We activate across all channels from big budget broadcast to hyper targeted digital.

The IE Director position requires someone who has the experience to provide strategic direction and leadership in one of our fastest growing markets. The ideal candidate will have a solid grounding in media planning & strategy, experience and knowledge of digital brand planning and the ambition to learn and develop. IE specific knowledge would be a bonus but not essential.

As an Account Director, you be responsible for:

  • Building strong, trusted relationships with key, mid-level clients
  • Supporting the Business Director to deliver outstanding work every time
  • Manage a team of 1 AM, 1 Senior Exec and 1 Exec, working on their personal development as well as ensuring efficiency
  • Work collaboratively with Investment and Performance teams to deliver high quality, timely responses

You will have had experience as a Senior Account/Planning Manager or Account Director within a media agency setting, working across comms planning across all media channels. Ideally you would have worked on a flagship account, working with large budgets and are extremely confident in presenting and speaking with senior clients.
