    Job Description

    Saatchi & Saatchi New York is looking for a social strategist who has their pulse on the social culture engine and can leverage insights into an integrated brand marketing plan that breaks through culture while driving engagement, word-of-mouth and business results for CPG clients. This person has an entrepreneurial spirit and is excited about the changing nature of the media, content, and advertising landscape. They’re excited about moments in culture regardless of whether they are planned (Sports, Music Festivals) or unplanned (TikTok Ocean Spray, Calm app supporting Naomi Osaka) and they’re curious about inserting brands into those conversations organically. They love to move fast, don’t require a lot of hand-holding or micromanagement, and hold a high creative standard. They will also be joining an award-winning team who recently won at Cannes, The One Show, D&AD and Clio.

    Responsibilities: 

    Strategy: Craft social engagement strategies for integrated marketing programs using audience insights, proven best practices per platform, and measurement with support from media teams. Support for ad-hoc strategy requests from clients as they come up week-to-week with research, strategic recommendations & creative thought starters.

    Content Strategy: Develops social-first storytelling briefs and is proficient in paid/earned/owned content planning with emphasis on understanding how each element fits within a brand’s content ecosystem across each specific channel. Documents you’ll author include content calendars, social content briefs and social influencer frameworks. Lead/assist developing the social/digital content approach, media plans, and measurement reports for client campaigns.

    Creative: Experience briefing and brainstorming both baseline and breakthrough social media and digital ideas, working closely with writers and designers to create best-practice work and big brand campaigns. Help to translate big ideas, campaigns and brand positionings into effective user-first experiences, inclusive of direction on how to best leverage social media platforms and formats.

    Engagement and community management: You will not be responsible for community management, but you will work with the community manager and clients on strategic ways to react in real-time to relevant cultural moments and how to improve content and conversation in social communities. You will not be responsible for scheduling and posting, but you will have brand credentials and should be capable of posting when needed.

    Listening/Trend Spotting: Social listening for opportunities, consumer behavior, audience research and engagement strategy. You’ll leverage insights/data to improve and inform ideas across brand campaigns and day to day brand postings.

    Emerging Media: Exhibits a passion for “what’s next,” seeking out the latest in media/content/social/tech trends, mobile applications and consumer behaviors; offering context, implications and opportunities for clients and colleagues with both clear implications and opportunities. Also builds a rapor and trust with clients and can discuss pro/con of testing a new platform or product.

    Qualifications

    • 2-5 years of experience in social media, media, public relations and/or advertising (agency experience preferred)
    • Problem solver with a passion for social media and a mindset that thrives in an environment that encourages risk-taking, innovation and creativity.
    • Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively, proactively, and seamlessly amongst a large integrated agency team.
    • Comfortable with client relationships and able to understand client’s needs
    • Experienced user of social listening platforms (e.g. NetBase, Brandwatch)
    • Is familiar with publishing platforms (Khoros, Sprinklr, etc.)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with no-typo precision in the quick-turn execution of campaigns, content and client documents
