Job Description

Rauxa is looking for a Technology Director to work remotely or from our Irvine, San Francisco, or Santa Monica offices once we reopen!

The Technical Director is responsible for guiding, delivering and leading software solutions that address important business needs. You will be a seasoned veteran who thrives on technology consulting and development. Delivery is the goal, as you will leading teams and projects in multiple successful implementations. You will be responsible for mentoring smart engineers who are located in global technology hubs. This candidate has a full stack focus with extensive experience in both front end and back end concepts and is a champion of coding best practices and technical oversight.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead architecture and design of high impact projects providing input to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability requirements.
  • Clearly and accurately articulate conceptual, logical and physical solutions.
  • Provide accurate estimates of effort required to develop and deploy technical components.
  • Provide guidance for project and development sequencing.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations and demonstrations.
  • Lead proof of concepts (POCs) to validate new technology. 
  • Provide guidance to engineering team leads to ensure extensibility and quality standards.
  • Be current with evolving technology trends. 
  • Identify and provide options to manage risk.
  • Maintain architectural backlog of stories to improve business value in the product.
  • Partner with business teams to assess feasibility for new features.
  • Review code for best practices, readability, and functional alignment with stated business goals.

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • You have a Bachelor degree in concentrations of computer science or comparable work experience (preferred).
  • You have five plus years of relevant progressively responsible experience of which:
    • Five years of software development experience demonstrating high standards in programming skills, application analysis and testing.
    • Focus developing Web or mobile applications.
    • Three years as lead developer or application architecture/enterprise architecture.
  • You work well in an Agile environment.
  • You have deep expertise with NodeJS. 
  • You have experience in one or more popular NodeJS frameworks: Express, Koa, Meteor, NestJS, etc.
  • You have experience in relational and non-relational databases.
  • You have experience producing cloud native solutions on AWS.
  • You are familiar with commonly deployed components in AWS: EC2, S3, NAT, API Gateway, Lambda, CloudWatch, etc. 
  • You have an intense desire to be a key member of a collaborative team who constantly delivers a high quality products. 
  • You must have great communication skills.
