Job Description

We’re looking for a Content Strategy Lead with a background in project management and team development to join our client-embedded team, working with one of the world’s largest tech companies. 

In this role you’ll partner with Business Marketing Managers to provide strategic guidance to a team of writers and creators.  Your superpower is messaging.  You have the ability to balance and respect the client’s brand while crafting a compelling story. You have great interpersonal and collaboration skills and possess exceptional organizational skills, strong project management, and the capability to manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously. Storytelling is key to this role and you should be able to write a good one.

You take a strategic approach; you start with the outcome in mind. You’re driven by solutions, not just driven by work.  You’ll drive the strategy behind the vertical narratives and decks the team creates, while coaching the writers toward success. Your exceptional communication skills and ability to distill the big ideas will be a continued source of support for team development. This role is equal parts leadership and execution. You should be able to roll up your sleeves and lead by example, meaning you are a great writer and you like working with a team. 

What you’ll do:

• Ownership of overall content strategy for website and have all website related content aligned with strategy.
• Content management of how it can be documented (ex. Sitemap) in a way that the technical team is able to consume it and also it is readable enough in order for client to make any updates if necessary
• Full ownership of all content going on the website, including copy and digital assets. Keeping documentation current regarding process and digital style rules.
• Ability to work closely with copywriter in coordinating copy, creative team (UX and Visual) on with acquiring digital assets, and technical development team on a content queries/needs.
• Vetting copy before and after publishing to ensure it fits with establish brand and style guidelines.
• Keeping track of change requests/client feedback, identifying content affected by each change, and ensuring consistent implementation.
• Communicating, consulting & influencing on various website content items with client
• Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum and have experienced working on project management tool (like Jira)

Qualifications

What you’ll bring: 

  • 8-10+ years of experience in a writing, creative strategy, content strategy, or editorial role
  • Strong background creating clear, long and short form content and compelling CTAs:
    • Please provide links to writing samples/portfolio (PDF, URLs) with your application 
  • Experience working closely with Marketing Leads in an iterative fashion
  • Experience working with Director and VP level leadership
  • Impeccable grammar and technical writing skills
  • Ability to learn and embody a range of tones and voices in written form, given the diversity of project types and teams we work with
  • Understanding of the business messaging ecosystem; ability to set up various messaging campaigns
  • Strong project management skills
  • Exceptional ability to distill and translate the big ideas into compelling narratives

What’s in your technical toolbox:

  • Familiarity with Marketing technology tools (Hubspot, Marketo, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Google Docs and Google Tasks
  • Comfort with adapting to a wide variety of internal tools
