Job Description

We’re looking for a hybrid Senior Art Director/UX designer. One with a strong visual skill set who has a love for information and has experience in the world of UX. In other words, you seek to understand the user, the business of the client, how those two interact, what the data can tell us about that interaction, what to do with that data and can make the beautiful and functional flow and visuals to bring it all together.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop standard UI components/patterns and style guides
  • Problem solve within scope while still considering out of the box implementations
  • Effectively communicate your designs and specs to developers and stakeholders.
  • The ability to speak to and design for project, product, marketing and business needs.
  • Create key visuals and working prototypes of components, pages and sites for presentation
  • Support QA to make sure features are implemented as intended
  • Conduct research to identify user needs when asked, utilize existing research to inform design in all projects
  • Work with digital analytics team to assess the impact of all UI design and usability changes
  • Document functional aspects of the product design process 
  • Conduct research to identify user needs when asked, utilize existing research to inform design in all projects
  • Staying up-to-date on best practices, UI/UX and emerging technologies.
  • Provide support and internal training when necessary
  • Understand and support workflows and plan tasks for UX/UI design projects

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • A mix of UI/UX design backgrounds
  • Strong visual design skills with the ability to create new look and feel as well as push existing designs into new spaces
  • Experience with web and mobile app/PWA design.
  • Working knowledge of responsive design and grid principles.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, InVision, Sketch.
  • Working knowledge of the ideation and creation of Sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fi layouts/wireframes/prototypes.
  • Conducting thorough site audits and landscape and competitor analysis
  • Working knowledge of ADA standards and practices
  • Working knowledge of creating requirements, UI/Functional specs
  • Working knowledge of the creation of user stories, personas, segments, mental frameworks
  • Working understanding of AEM
  • Working understanding of personalization 
  • Working understanding of Design Thinking/Human-centered Design

Nice to Have Knowledge of or Experience in:

  • Planning/conducting user research
  • Gathering and Interpreting data and qualitative feedback
  • Determining information architecture and create sitemaps
  • Conducting usability & usefulness testing
  • Digital workflow (agile and waterfall)
  • Designing for screenless interface (voice, etc)
  • Front end or back end dev, WordPress, html5, microinteractions/animation
