Job Description

Associate Creative Director (Copy)

Heartbeat believes that creativity doesn’t happen in the isolated retreat of the reclusive genius: it happens in the conversation and mutual inspiration of smart, motivated folks from different disciplines working together toward a shared goal. In other words, we believe in the value of the creative community.

We seek an Associate Creative Director (ACD) who shares our philosophy to help build and lead that creative community at Heartbeat Ideas. The ACD will work in conjunction with the Creative Director and the Creative Team to develop creative campaigns and to hire the teams that will execute those campaigns, across channels and practice area (design, copy & UX).

S/he will love pitching new business, the craze of the creative crunch and the sway of opinions shared & examined. S/he will collaborate with Account to solidify & grow client relationships, with Strategy to write, edit & deconstruct Creative Briefs and Creative to identify the client need at heart of those Briefs, knowing that the solution only comes from putting pen to paper.

The ACD will be a hearty digital native who LOVES advertising and recognizes its power to change behavior/the culture (aka, to change people’s lives). A battle-tested thinker with a broad perspective on the industry, who can articulate & infuse others with that perspective, while applying it to the details… to the craft; who has done the work and grown to hatch some campaigns that would make us jealous.

All this means that one day you may be splashing about in the muddy waters of campaign concepting with your art & copy teams, while the next you may be hashing out the details of an elegant iPad interface with your Lead UX. But every day you’ll be collaborating with your partners in the Creative team to dream and think and make the next generation of digital brand experiences.

Sound interesting? If it does, we should meet.
